Skin Conditions - September 2006

I have been to the doc earlier this summer & he did not know what it was. Now it's flared up worse, and he cannot get me in again for 3 weeks. My hands are red, puffy, and starting to itch. The skin around the nail beds is red & swollen. The rash on my chest and arms was growing new skin, but now has turned red again. It is warm to the touch. I am not expecting a diagnosis, but just wondered if anyone has ever seen anything like this?

I was working on an old house the other day, that no one is living in and we are trying to fix up to sell, I had jeans on. I'm 25 and female, not that this matters. I was sitting cross legged off and on changing doorknobs on the house, and i told my husband that my leg hurt. (in general).... thought my knee and behind my knee was hurting because I was getting up and down and cross legged. Anyway, I ran my hand up and down my thigh and calf and felt a gumball sized ball behind my knee. I dropped my pants, and saw what looked like a single puncture wound, small,a nd the area around it was red and inflammed. It does not/didn't itch at all. Just hurts. It's right in the crease of my leg. Now, 36 hours later, it still hurts like hell, is red, and inflammed. the puncture is darker. and i'm limping, mainly because the pain is in the crease and it presses when i walk. i didn't see what bit/stung me, but it did not hurt when it happened. it hurt after. what do you think? i'm in pain!

Quite often nuts, cashew, walnut etc dry fruits get discoloured and/or taste sour and become inedible. Is it advisable to keep them refrigerated to allow them to retain freshness?

For the past 3 months I have been getting very large swollen puss-filled bumps on random parts of my body... I have never had these before. They start out like a pimple..then by the third day are swollen like a goldball..after about 2 days they finally pop and a very large amount of puss comes out..then they heal in like 2 days. The first one i got was 2 on my back..then a wekk later got one on my face--now its finally healed--i have another on my face that is currenty healing. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but also my eyes have been really itchy and dry lately..and are starting to develop dark pink circles underneath. Ive looked on google and cant find anything that describes this-- someone please help!!!!

It's driving me crazy and I can't sleep. I already asked two doctors and they say its the time of year and theres nothing I can do but use cold water for relief. But I can't exactly sleep with my feet in cold water. I don't think its the time of year because this has been going on for ab out 6 months now. I could really use some input here. I've tried anti funal cream, anti itch cream, regular moisturizing lotion, allergy medication, soaking in hot and cold water, using anti itch bath, and scratching like there was no end to it, and nothing has been able to help me yet.

It's always in the same place and only shows itself if I don't shower for a couple days or more then it gets itchy and I scratch it (I know, gross). It's about 2/3 the size of a penny when I start scratching. But if I scratch it alot it bleeds not real easy but easier than normal. I'm assuming this is a sort of fungus, but what can I do to get rid of it and how concerned should I be? How did I get it? I can't afford a doctor so that's out of the question. Thanks everyone.

I have been getting these weird bumps on my arm. They appear if I come in contact with something to ahrd. For instance if I smack my arm off of something. Also my fingers get swollen. They get swollen from even bowling. The swelling goes down and the bumps go away about an hour after they appear. Does anyone know what this is?

my condition first started in my feet/ankle area. and later on, there were probably just one or two on my legs (below knee cap and above the ankles). then, they started to appear on my arms near the bicep/tricep area and now they're appearing on my shoulders and back. they're red, pimple like, and theyre not itchy. i went to the doctor and he said it must be my skin allergic to something. so he prescribed me 2 things: tiamcinolone acetonide cream .1% 80g and loratadine usp, 10mg antihistamine. i've been on these things for like 2 weeks and i dunno if they're working. do you guys have any clue what condition i may be having? thanks.

Does anybody know of any over-the-counter preparations which might help with this condition. I think that it is what I have along the side of my nostrils. A bit sore and flaky. Responds to hydrocortisone cream usually, but not this time.

ok past few months I been getting spurts of major itching on my tailbone..It lasts 2 or 3 days and goes away. Then returns a month or two later. I take baths daily, so dont say its not from washing. I had my hubby look at it and he says there is nothing there but a little redness from me scratching. Has anyone had this or knows what the heck it can be? I hate to go to the doctor for something so trivial. Thanks a bunch!!!!

I have a very painful sore/ulcer on the palate since 4 days. My doc says it was triggered by drug reaction -I had just prior to the outbreak. Applying TESS (Triamcinolone Acetonide) on the area, using chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash & having Rebamipide tabs for fast healing and Cefuroxime Axetil antibiotic tablet that has no effect on healing. Anyone suffered the same? What time it takes for remission? What blood test is necessary for ruling out other possibilities? Answer from experienced & proffessional pl.

My boyfriend had something very similar 2 weeks ago. He picked at his and they swelled up. He had a high fever. The doctor wanted to put him in the hospital but, he wouldn't go. He said the doctor said they were spider bites. He lives with me and I have my house sprayed by pros and I never see a spider in it. It took about 5 days to get his swelling down. He was better a few days and now his leg has swelled up.
About the time this started with him, I had a slight itching but, I attributed it to chiggers. It's taken at least 2 weeks to turn into what resembles what his looked like before he swelled up and got a fever. I will not pick at something like he does. Mine are very small but quite itchy. I can't believe they could be spider bites but don't know what they could be. Certainly don't want to swell up like he has. I'd think they would have to be contagious for me to get them - yet I may have had early symptoms at same time his began. Anyone have a clue?
