My husband gets tiny clear blisters on his hands and feet that dry and peel (dozens of them at a time). What could this be a sympton of? Is it cause for alarm?

It does indeed sound like an allergy, which could incorporate eczema etc as stated.

There could also be a weakness in his immune system, eczema being one of the symptoms of that.

I specialise in immune related conditions, so don't hesitate to contact me if you want some more information. Oh, and I don't charge.

Good Luck!

sounds like my allergy. In general it could be allergic to chlorifill, walking in wet grass sets it off for me. or touching pallets due to the sap that may be on them. Hydrocortisone and bandaging helps keep it from spreading. Warning: opening the blisters makes them spread, but they need to be opend to heal faster, so get some witch hazel from walmart or the pharmacy, open them and then wipe witchhazel on them and then cover them because they will continue to drain, then after they stop draining, put on hydrocortisone to help dry them up and be careful cause the other place they seem to end up is your waistline where your pants rub and they are harder to get rid of there

Try an antifungal ointment. If it responds positively, then it may be a form of athletes' feet, eczema or other skin condition caused by candida (yeast) fungus.

www.hufa.org has some basic info on yeast infections, at the yeast link.

It depends. I'd take him to the dermatologist to be sure. But, blisters like the ones you describe could be Ringworm, Syphillis, or Eczema.
