When I had mine done, I was told to moisturise the area regularly.

You might be allergic to the pigment that was used in the tattoo. I would suggest that you not have another tattoo done again but meanwhile you can apply a low potency steroid cream on the rash for 2 times daily, 5 - 8 days. You can also use a antibacterial cream on it once a day just in case you develop a pigment. Also take a nonsedating, long acting antihistamine to reduce the rash and do take care the next time.

It is unlikely that you have a rash from the ink pigment, i've worked with tattoos for years and never heard of it. Most likely- you are allergic to the sterliser that the tattooist used on your skin to keep it clean. He also will have shaved the area you had tattooed- perhaps you were allergic to the cream? Another possibility is you are allergic to the moisturising cream that you are putting on the tattoo- try something like E45 or even petrolleum jelly- they will work perfectly well.
Don't let this put you off tattoos- i'm sure it'll clean up soon.
Good luck and hope that helped :)

I'm not sure about the tattoo causing the rash. What came to mind to me is if you are using Neosporin on it. Myself and many others are allergic to neosporin and it causes a rash like you describe. Try just using peroxide on it and see if the rash goes away. If not, then it could be the ink from the tattoo.

When you get a tattoo you get redness around the area the tattoo was done on. Use bepanthen on it twice a day, a scab will form peeling too. It takes about 6 weeks for things to heal up fully. Don't panic. All will be well.

Is it just scabby and red around the edges?? if it is this is the normally healing process just apply sum savalon to it and keep doing this every few hours. It will get itchy this is normal.
How long ago did you have it done and what are you using on it now?? how long did you cover it for when it was done?

It might be a reaction from the ink.Call your doctor and just ask what to put on it because I'm pretty sure there's an ointment to clear up that rash.Hope it works.
