My boyfriend had something very similar 2 weeks ago. He picked at his and they swelled up. He had a high fever. The doctor wanted to put him in the hospital but, he wouldn't go. He said the doctor said they were spider bites. He lives with me and I have my house sprayed by pros and I never see a spider in it. It took about 5 days to get his swelling down. He was better a few days and now his leg has swelled up.
About the time this started with him, I had a slight itching but, I attributed it to chiggers. It's taken at least 2 weeks to turn into what resembles what his looked like before he swelled up and got a fever. I will not pick at something like he does. Mine are very small but quite itchy. I can't believe they could be spider bites but don't know what they could be. Certainly don't want to swell up like he has. I'd think they would have to be contagious for me to get them - yet I may have had early symptoms at same time his began. Anyone have a clue?

I'd go to the doctor. Something doesn't seem quite right with your boyfriend, but maybe I'm wrong. Go get it checked out and have a proffesional tell you what's going on instead of worrying anymore about it. In the mean time, rub some alcohol on it and try to dry it up. Keep it cleaned and maintained until you get to the doctor.

First off how much do you trust your b/f. I would go to a doctor and check to see if it was an STD, if it was then i would go have a serious talk to my partner

if not, no harm done and you can go back to your life

P.S
spider bite story sounds kinda fishy
then again not sure because i dont know the whole story

If your doctor did not attempt to take a sample to have it analyzed, get a new doctor. My itchy red rash turned out to be candida fungus (yeast). This can be transmitted by skin contact between partners and comes from our own intestines.

Check out yeast at www.hufa.org - the yeast link. Try some antifungal cream on yours, but he needs to get medical care for himself due to the swelling. That sounds really dangerous.
