I'm 16. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis when I was 14 and now I get regular blood testing every 3 months to tell if my thyroid is working properly/if my meds(synthroid) need to be adjusted. If I go on the pill, will these tests be able to tell? My parents are Catholic and wouldn't exactly be pleased with the news.
ps. I'm not interested in your speeches on abstinence or involving my parents in my personal life.

Hey, all! This is my first post (insignificant addition), and I want to know whether something my parents belive is a myth or not. Here goes:
True or False:
After Bunion surgery, (or any constructive foot surgery) the patient forever walks with a limp, or, they are unable to walk normal ever again.
Your serious answers will be so appreciated!
Thank you!

I've been Hypothyroid for 18 years and have been on synthroid, getting checked every 6 months... Recently I started losing my hair, gained 12 pounds, tired... so I went in to get my blood tests done by my Endocrinologist again... my TSH level was 55.25! I am already on 150mcg. He's upping my thyroid medication again, but I'd like to know if anyone knows what foods to AVOID that hinder the thyroid function. Also foods to eat regularly to promote healthy thyroid function. I can't understand why my body freaked out and went haywire... I eat healthily (organic), and don't smoke with an occasional glass of red wine. I exercise regularly. What is going on here? Totally confused!

my brother has used the family over and over again. He's now been sober for 3 months and is claiming kidney failure, that his red blood count and his white blood count cannot be detected on his labs. He's also saying that the other organs in his body are shutting down, yet the doctor has him on NO medications other than vitamins and an anti-siezure medication and he has to turn in at 10 applications a week to stay on his state funded insurance. I'm a medic, so I don't think I'm that dumb, but if he's in as bad of shape as he claims, wouldn't he be hospitilized?

we have noitced his eye has been watering for some time and producing gunk occasionally. I have just noticed what I think is a dog hair stuck across his eyeball which moves around quite a lot. Does this need surgery to remove do you think?

I am having a hard time finding information on the net about this condition. Does anyone know how common it is for patients to develop blistering of the skin following joint replacement surgery (arthroplasty)? I think they are called fracture blisters. Is this a serious complication or something that usually resolves itself?
