Hi, I have a question regarding Hemoglobine. About a month and a half ago I donated blood. Before letting me donate they checked my hemoglobine and it was 14. Today I got back a complete blood test results I requested from my doctor and it says I have 11.5 of hemoglobine. Can donating blood lower my hemoglobine that much even though it was on March the 22th?

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I've been doing insulin injections 4 times a day for the last week due to gestational diabetes. This morning on one of my injections, there was a bit of blood in the syringe when I withdrew the needle. There was only a drop of blood on my skin not a lot by any means.

What would have caused this?

Any help would be much appreciated.
