Sure you can. Just make sure your sugar levels are at a proper level and that you take care of yourself so you can better endure the long hours required of a nurse. I am a diabetic, and lacking energy, at times, is the major problem for me. I fight through it, though. I eat right, my levels are great, and I also work nights, which is difficult, but I feel great. It shouldn't hold you back. I would tell your employer though in case you have an episode or spell and they will know what to do to help you. Good luck!!!!!

You can be whatever you want to be as long as your disability doesn't affect your ability to do your job. For example, if a employer refused to hire a blind person as a pizza delivery person. Yes, hospitals cant discriminate against you because you have diabetes.
