Every few days a week, I have these crashes in the early afternoon. I eat breakfast every day, but around lunch time, I get fatigued, irritable and weak, sometimes dizzy. I eat, and then I feel better. (I eat soup or a hardy, healthy lunch and feel better.) Could this be diabetes, or just my diet? I used to eat a lot of sugar, and recently I've cut down a bit, could this be the cause?

Here is the situation. i had gestational diabetes. I beleive I had it before but didn't know and didn't find out until I was pregnant..Baby was born just perfect no complications!! Thank goodness.

Well I went to doctor and I was sent to a nutritionist and we went over the eating 3 meals and snacks. So I started eating how I was supposed to and my blood sugars are very high. So I decided to take some diet pills and eating very litttle lunch (salad) and maybe a snack for dinner. and my blood sugars seem to have gone down. I know this is not the way the doctor told me to do it but they seem better. I have a drs appt at the end of mont h to do blood work and will ask her then about it. Does anyone have any info or and personal advice on the situation??

I am on Metformin/Glucophage. I have been getting 2-3 severe legs cramps per night around my ankles, and calfs so severe that I have to get out of bed and walk around. Could this be a side effect of the glucophage? I have been taking it for six weeks now. Anything that could help the cramps. My legs are still sore.

My Mom said her doctor told her she has too much insulin in her blood, but she does not have diabetes. Does anyone know anything about this? She had a 3 hour GTT and her level was 57. I have never heard anything like this before. I think she needs to see a doctor that deals with diabetes, but she sees no need to go to someone else. Please if anyone can even give me a little bit of information I would be Thankful. She is one of those people in less she sees it in print she does not believe it .

I have for the past few months have had alot of changes occuring. i have been urinating about 5-7 times a day. I sleep about 8 hours at night and when i come home from work i sleep for another 2 hours. I feel thirsty alot and cannot go an hour without having something to drink. when i wake up in the morning my throat feels real dry so i end up drink about 2 glasses of water. i am about 135 pounds overweight which i am currently working on getting down. should i see a doctor about this to get it checked out. my family has even noticed i sleep alot and sometimes are worried. when i wake up from my 8 hours of sleep i feel like i haven't slept at all. during my whole work day i feel really tired.

i'm not dehydrated, it doesnt happen all the time, it doesnt happen when i stand up. (its happened while i was laying) it lasts for only a few seconds. i've been told that my face turns very red, i feel like all the blood is rushing to my head. i dont have high blood pressure, i'm 21 and go to the gym everyday. so i'm young and healthy as far as i can tell. i dont smoke or drink. i dont want this to happen while i'm driving so should i be worried?

Before I start, I know I am only asking for advice from the Yahoo Answers community and am not going to base my actions soley on the answers. But was hoping to get a little outlook on the situation, before I go for my doctors check-up 6 days from today.
I bought a blood sugar monitor; I checked my levels the first time, hours after dinner but shortly after eating a small sweet (157)...checked it the next morning before anything to eat (104)...checked it approx. 6 pm that day, after working in yard for 5 hrs. (96)....checked it today before dinner (110)...for dinner I had 2 hotdogs and a handful of Doritos and about 2 hrs later I ate 2 small pecan twirls and got a reading of (215). What do you think these readings would tell me about; is it close to diabetic or far from it. Are these readings normal or worthy of being checked for any type of diabetes? Adult male-age 41-205 lbs-5 ft 10 in.
