I remember how scared i was of injections.
It really isn't that bad.
Once you try it, you will realize that.
Give it a try and good luck.
Also:
Diabetes is never curable. That goes for type 1 & 2.Even if you don't need medication, you still have diabetes.
An insulin pump does not have to be put in with surgery. You put it in and change your site every 2-3 days.

Having been a diabetic myself for more than 25 years, I can tell you that there is really no totally pain free delivery of insulin. However, there are many different methods that reduce the amount of pain experienced by the diabetic. I was on the insulin pump for three years and found it to be very painless. How about the nasal spray insulin? Is that an option for you?

If you have Type 2 diabetes, it is NOT totally reversible with weight loss, diet and exercise. It may be in some cases, but not in all.
Anyway, the insulin pump is a great way to manage insulin dependent diabetes. It requires a needle stick every 2-3 days, but that is much better than several times/day. The pump is programmable so that it meets your specific needs. It delivers a constant "drip" of insulin and then gives extra insulin when you eat, or if your sugar is high. You still have to check your sugar often, and you have to tell the pump when you've eaten and how many carbohydrates you have had.
The pump is only good for people who watch their diabetes closely and are going to follow Dr.'s instructions.

There is an inhalable form of insulin now, but for some reason, doctors don't often prescribe it.

Yes, it's called losing weight and exercising so you don't have to shoot insulin. If you are a Type 1 diabetic you might want to talk to your doctor about various methods/surgery for insulin pump. If you're type 2, it's totally reversable with weight loss, exercise and proper nutrition.
