Type One Dm is different than type two in several ways. First of all, in type 1 the body lacks a source of endogenous insulin. The exact reason why this happens is not understood, but it is believed to have an auto immune component. Type Ii usually results from decreased insulin output and or decreased sensitivity of the cells to insulin. I hope this helps!
