The www.cdc.gov website lists only a phone number with pre-recorded messages. When you follow the links on their website regarding reporting emergencies, they take you to the state health department, which immediately links to the state department of environmental protection. If the state authoritites won't do anything, are you out of luck even though you may be exposed to diseases like hepatitis, cholera, gastrointestinal problems, immune system problems, etc?

Is there a Dr/Nurse that can help me out here? My Dr's appt isn't till the 28th (soonest I could get) and I can't afford urgent-care visit. I don't know how serious this is--worried it's a clot.

Some background: I'm 33, fem, lrg (300lbs). Just got off of a 12-day WATER-fast (nothing but water for the entire duration). I found out later that I was apparently supposed to do a 4-day vegetable-juice fast PRIOR to doing this. So I guess that was mistake #1. Mistake #2 was my junk-food binge (no purging though) where I had mexican food, doughnuts, lots of fried shrimp, hamburgers, french fries and a rootbeer float (it was a buffet) over a period of three days immediately following the fast. Immediately after that binge last night, I noticed both of my ankles (not the feet though) were very swollen. No pain--even as I type this (which is the following day). Today I had a salad & pure orange juice & tomato soup. Swelling has gone down a little bit, but not much.

WOULD MASSAGING IT BE OK?

I dont know what to do,I dont want to stress out on my kids, Sometimes Im just overwelmed.Im a single parent with very little income.My mom has always been their to help me emotionally now she has been diagnosed with cancer and is already doing chemo I feel terrible,shes a very strong women much tougher then myself,Im trying to be there for her but in the meantime my kids sense theres a problem but dont really get it .Although they no that its a very stressful time for all of us the younger ones seem to act out and the older ones just disapear with there freinds. Anyway its very stressful. Any ideas on how to deal with all this without freaking out

I mean... it seems to me... that We as a global-society say that we WANT to cure disease, but the fact is that doctors and hospitals and drug companies and health insurance companies, woud loose money if we were to suddenly cure everything....

Don't you think it kind of seems like they want us to get better but not alllll the way better. It's almost like they just want to cure the symptoms with a pill (an expensive pill) and have us go about our lives needing them... paying them...etc.

I've been taking 275mg of phenytoin for 22 years now. Since I started taking lamotragine alongside it, my seizures have reduced dramatically and the neurologist wants to get me off the phenytoin altogether. I'll be reducing it by 25mg each week. What side affects am I likely to notice - am I likely to feel more anxious, jittery or short-tempered for a while?

I feel like I have an OCD, I am obsessed with turning lights and plugs off all the time, I go round like four times to check everything is off and unplugged and I don't know why I do it. on the inside of the lids of some jars of soup that she bought at the health food store. She's in a panic because she has been eating this kind of soup for several months now and is convinced she has mold growing inside of her. I figure if the stuff was dangerous she would have died by now or at least be very sick. She points out that she has been sick. But, I observe, no sicker than usual. She has enjoyed poor health for many years. So is she in serious danger? And if so, what should she do about it?

I have been working non stop with 102 fever since this morning and im working at the airport loading bags. Physical work with lifting of 50 to 70lbs baggage. Ive been taking tylenol and im feeling my head is going to explode... I can still handle it but is it safe? please reply asap coz im really workahalic and cant afford to lose 1 day of Job.

I was diagnosed with ADD when I was younger. My hubby has noted that my hands shake sometimes. He said he's heard this is a sign of ADD.
I was just wondering if the shakiness is from my ADD or just me being stressed out or nervous.

ive had two miscarrages in the last 6 months, had a investigation to find out why, my results came back yesterday and said i have clhmidiya (however u spell it) i had a full screening for std's before i went into new relationship with new partner which was two years ago and i was clear as i have just found out i have a STD i very angrily cnofronted my boyfriend, and after a while admitted he slept with some one with std but not whilst with me , but never had it checked as he reckoned he was protected, im very upset about this and cant have him near me , at all, now i dont want n e advice i just want some suppport , im wondering why he never told me and as a result of his stupidty he has caused me two pain miscarriages of my babies, i have been left extremly devasted and i dont know what to do , i feel as if my boyfriend is hiding other stuff from me now am i paronoid? or being silly?

Umm, I know I have a very bad odour coming from me, but I can't smell it. I have asked a few close friends, and have admitted that I do.

I wash everyday, use deodarant and am wondering how to get rid of it completly!

Are there any medicines etc or just ways to stop it!

Dont worry - luckily I'm not depressed and still have many friends:)

It would be very good to get rid of it soon,

Because I'm moving to a new school in a couple of weeks and wonder if they will accept me.

i was wondering if it's ok to take Lisinopril right after taking Glipizide or would I have to wait a couple hours before I take this medication. I just feel I have alot of medication to take a day. I have to take another pill @ night aswell, called Simvastatin.

Ive been told a couple different things .. One person said all you need is a urine, blood, and cotton swab taken from your mouth. Ive also heard that they stick a q tip up your penis ..... THATS A NONO.... either way I have been looking around for free clinics and I cant find anything. what are prices, procedure and other things I should be aware of? any links to free clinics in the Ny area would be helpful. Two days ago, about 9pm my heart started to hurt really badly for about an hour. I couldn't take a deep breath because I felt a sharp pain. I couldn't lay down and the worse was when I lied on my left side. My pulse was 110 and my heart rate was somewhere around 132. After an hour it went to the normal heart rate. Yesterday before I went to sleep I felt the same pain again but it didn't hurt that much as before. Today it hurts a little bit when I breath. I had similar pains for couple of weeks but never for longer than 1-3 minutes. I'm 16, not overweight, not smoking and I never had heart problems. Do you think I may have some heart problems or it's nothing to worry about??
