on the inside of the lids of some jars of soup that she bought at the health food store. She's in a panic because she has been eating this kind of soup for several months now and is convinced she has mold growing inside of her. I figure if the stuff was dangerous she would have died by now or at least be very sick. She points out that she has been sick. But, I observe, no sicker than usual. She has enjoyed poor health for many years. So is she in serious danger? And if so, what should she do about it?

Have her checked out at the doc, and talk to your local food and drug administration, and show em one of these cans.

You could have a very big lawsuit on your hands, if it is infact mold.

If she has already been sick, then she is at greater risk than if no. However, it is more likely that what is on the lids is corrosion of the lids than mold. However, neither one should be there and she should take them all back and get an explanation. There is a possibility that the jars were filled at the store (like buying bulk peanut butter or ground coffee) and thus were not "canned" = sterilized and never should have been stored the way she has.

she should be ok she does need to quite eating it and tell the store that she found mold if she found it when she brought it home from the store. but if she had it open for awile in her refigerator then she dont need to bother the store.
If she had an illness prior to eating the mold she might just want to get checked out just incase bc the sickness that mold can cause could be hidden by the other sickness.

It might be something from the soup like spices or something. She should be okay but you could always check with her doctor. If it has been several mounths I think you would have notice her getting sick because of the soup.

Is she sure it isn't spices? I'm sorry but she sounds like a hypochondriac.
