I've had it, it's miserable. Not only don't you feel well (nausea, fever, etc.) you have a million little itchy red dots covering yourself, and if you itch them they could leave scars. Worst of all it doesn't go away for a week or two. Not fun.

As others have said, they are itchy, and they scab up later which is annoying. I had them when I was young. The thought process among parents back then is that you wanted your kids to get chickenpox so that they could get it over with. So, when a relative had chickenpox, they brought me over to their house so I could catch it. This was not an uncommon practice in the early 60's

I had chicken pox when i was 8 yrs old. You should only get them one time, so if you have had them before, chances are you dont have it again. They are very itchy red bumps. You shouldnt scratch them because they can scar your skin permanently. When i had them, i was meds from the doctor and i took bathed in Oatmeal. The Oatmeal has a very calming effect to the skin and helps reduce itching. Maybe you have bug bites or your skin may be breaking out from new laundry detergent, or an alleric reaction to food or medication. Look back and see if you have anything new on your skin or in your body lately, and then see a doctor to be sure.......good luck

I had it when I was about 5 years old. It was gross! I was covered from head to toe and everywhere in between by these nasty, itchy bumps. Then they turned into hardened, itchy scab-type bumps. Yuck!!! Kids are so lucky that there's a vaccine out now for it. I have scars from it that will never go away.

I got chicken pox at an older age --- Around age 14.
I was really sick with bad flu like symptoms.
and I had scabby sores all over that itched. I remember mom using calomine lotion to dry them up and of course you don't want to scratch them open!
Warm baths helped too in my case.
The older you are when contracting chicken pox
the sicker you may be.

most people get it as kids and i did when i was around 6 or 7.I'm 27 now.
You normally get it only once also.
It's itchy as everyone else mentioned. And you develop little round bumps all over your body, almost everywhere.I felt nausecous too, fever and associated discomfort, and not very good.I think the worst of it last about up to a week, and then your just left with the little bumps, which last about 2-3 months, before they start to fade, but sometimes you get scarred permanetly.

Don't be in a rush to get it ;)

I got it when I was four and I can remember being terribly itchy. Even calomine lotion only helps so much. Unfortunately you cant scratch though or you can leave scars or spread the infection to other parts of your body. I was lucky enough to only have it externally but my uncle had it everywhere including inside his mouth (ewww)

i had it when i was really young, i don't remember much, but i do remember it was terrible! my dad never had it before so i had to stay at my grandparents house because if adults get it they can die if it's bad enough. i remember that i had them so bad i couldn't sit down, they we're literally "all over" my body and some even inside my mouth. i had to take baths in aveeno stuff so that the itching wouldn't be so bad, but to this day i still have scars on my stomach, back, and thighs from it being so bad.

I did when I was little. It's ugly, it itches a lot, and it leaves scars. :( I have a couple scars on my legs and one on my forehead. I don't think too many kids get chicken pox anymore because now they have a vaccine. I gave them to my baby sister and all the kids in the neighborhood.
