it is quite common for the elderly to have very fragile thin skin, she needs to wear protective clothing, like slacks and long sleeved shirts. Applying a good moisturizer twice a day will help to make the skin more elastic and less likely to tear. Aside from that, she should only bathe once or twice a week, bathing really dries the skin.
Sorry, no magic pills for this. It is a part of aging.

Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done. As we age, our skin does thin out. The best thing to do for her is to make sure that when she does bleed from a scrape or bump, that it is cleaned out so she doesn't get an infection. Sorry.

My 94 year only grandma got a paper cut or her hand reaching in her pocket to get a shopping list and it really scared me at how thin and fragile old people's skin is. It was the grosses thing I have ever seen. A simple paper cut took this huge chuck of skin out and her nerves and arteries were exposed. Your mom and caregivers have to be careful to protect her skin from injury.

No, unfortuantely this is an aspect of aging that just happens. She just needs to be extremely careful about how she goes about her day and if someone is taking care of her, they need to be aware of the fact that her skin is easily torn. I wish there were something I could tell you that would help, but there isn't anything that I know of.
