Hi,
My friend has been hospitalized in 2 dif hospitals for 3 weeks now. She has had multiple MRI's, CAT scans, Spinal taps, blood work, you name it, and they CANNOT get a diagnosis.

One team of doctors thinks cancer. She has a nodule in one lung, a mass on her spine and something in her brain that they can't tell what it is. However, all the tests show "inconclusive".

The other team thinks TB, but her TB test is neg and her lungs show no TB..They think it settled in her spine instead of lungs. I've never heard of this...STILL there is NO diagnosis.

She is wasting away, weak, lost over 20 pounds. Her symptoms started w/severe headache and vomiting. She's been sick 6 weeks or more. It's affecting her short term memory BADLY. No fever. It just doesn't make sense.

They thought maybe a fungal infect. in her brain, but they dont know. This is getting SCARY. PLEASE, if you have been through this or know anyone who has, I'd really appreciate a response.

THANK YOU

I am interested in knowing how much discomfort is involved with no drugs. I have had 1 colonoscopy with fentanyl and versed.

If you are in the medical profession and perform or assist during colonoscopies...I would like to also know that if you are under conscious sedation - how does the doctor know you need more medication for pain? Can you speak or are you mostly asleep? I am trying to decide what drugs (if any) for my next colonoscopy. After my colonoscopy, the doctor told my husband that "she did fine. What does that mean - exactly?

you see my mother died of cervical cancer a few years ago and I'm really having trouble "how she got it". My dad told me that after giving birth to my young sister, the tools used for her surgery wasn't seralized enough and the last patient might have had HPV or cancer already( just to let you know me and my sister was born in the Philippines, a 3rd world country). I know my father isnt HIV/STD/AID positive. Plus my mom lost her virginity to my father and only him. So do you think there is a chnace I might have it in the later future too? I'm really scared and confused

This kind of honesty is just part of the many wonderful positive traits of this individual. We are mutually attracted to each other but there is this stumbling block called herpes. I am aware of the complications and one moment say I am willing to accept whatever and the next moment I am confused and fearful of being left with an incurable disease. How does one weigh the consequences? I would not be asking this if she did not mean so much to me in all other ways. How have others handled this kind of relationship?

Hi all,
i had precancerous cells removed by loop or something? it was sin 3. I had op. in Feb this year. I gave natural birth to a prem baby at 25 weeks Nov.05 and unfortunately my boy passed away this year in April. Ive read some of the questions and answers in this website and i became very scared. I read of people dying ect.. cant it be treated if you get the cancer and survive? Will i get it again do u think? I had my 6 month check up from Feb. just 3 weeks ago and it was all ok. My doctor said wont need to c me until next July 07. Im scared after i read this info. To tell u the truth i dont even know what it all means and where i stand. I was going through too much trauma at the time. I also lost my mum just 2 months ago. Will i be able to go through another pregnancy do you think as ive already had a prem baby and then had the cells removed? pls help me, what can i do to try and prevent this from coming back? Ill do anything?
regards
Christine

I broke up with my boyfriend of 9 months some time ago. I started seeing him recently and he does have another girlfriend. I have not been with anyone else since him. His and my private areas HAVE NOT touched during our meetings (maybe for a second on accident while sleeping tho) but we have done oral and touching. The other day while I woke up with him, I saw a red bump on his penis(popped up overnight?). Looks like a pimple up by his pubic hairs. That night we went down and he had a swab test which we are waiting on the results. His gf is waiting on her results.

*How possible, with what we've done together, is it that I've contracted this possilby herpes case?
*Could this be his first outbreak of herpes that he got from me 9 months ago? I dont think I have herpes..but I know some have no symptoms.
*What should I do for myself testing wise? (I know blood tests can be inncacurate if done too soon.)
*His sore looks nothing like pictures I've seen. Is that a really good sign?

It could be a swollen lymph node or a cyst of some sort. I am not sure....she has been fighting a cold for about a week or so. It hurts her to bend her neck, (putting her ear to her shoulder). About three weeks ago she was throwing up, I thought it was the 24hr bug. She has a history of not haveing a sore throat and haveing strep throat before. She has been coughing, and she says when she coughs her throat hurts only then. I think I am going to bring her to the dr.'s tomorrow. What do you all think??

My father was diagnosed Yesterday of having BRAIN TUMOR sized 2.1 x 2.8 x 2.9 cm. iM kinda paranoid now.I just cant believed my dad is having this serious illness which we never expect since no one in my family background having this disease.Just ma father. But we dunno yet what really the final diagnosis if its benign or malignant.we still waiitng for hes laboratory test before we go to an internest! HEs complaining of vision problem so we thought he has a cataract but then the doctor said hes cataract is small thats why he had undergone CT-Scan and there they found a mass on hes brain, the tumor.is thre lot of people died because of that? or do they survive fighting thier illness? what about my dad,any idea? you think he can survive on that tumor size i mentioned above? does it matter on the size? as of now I must be strong and fight!

When the federal government subsidizes tabacco farmers AND both federal & state governemnts profit, even now, from taxing tobacco products, which, the government readily admits, kills people? Double standard ?

I had excessive exposure to secound hand smoke as a child. As a young adult I developed asthma. Could this be beacuse of the second hand smoke? I control my enviornment well with regard to dust, and it helps. I stay out of smokey enviroments because I get full blown asthma when it happens and have to go on multiplue medications. So I cannot go listen to live music or dance. Could smoke have started this whole problem? Both parents smoked my entire life in my face and I breathed it constantly for my whole life. My mom was smoking when she was pregnant with me and I was low bith weight.

For anyone with HIV/AIDS, what is it like? I mean, the day to day stuff? I'm asking because I'm writing about it (not for a paper or for school or anything) and all I can find about what it's like are poems and artsy articles that only poke at it abstractedly and in the generic. Even a lot of the medical journals are often generic. I realize that it can be different for everyone, though.

Yesterday I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I'm having complex partial seizures. I've been put on Keppra & have to prove that I haven't had a seizure for 3 months before I can start driving again. I have no problem with obeying this law, but my doctor told me that according to Arizona law that I have to go to the MVD & fill out a form letting them know that I have been diagnosed with epilepsy within five days of the diagnosis. Then after 3 months of not having a seizure I need to go back & fill out a form stating that I haven't had a seizure. So here's the deal: I have no problem not driving for three months, but I have issues with the government knowing my business...especially medical related. Is it better to fill out the form and comply with the MVD's rules or not fill out the form, but adhere to my doctor's recommendation? I read somewhere that it is recommended to fill out the form because it covers me from liability. But I'm worred that my insurance will find out & stop coveraged.
