He has had this thing for years. It seems to start in one place of his nose and then moves to another but it is like a boil but nothing seems to come to a head. He says that it swells and becomes really painful. Any ideas on what it is and how can he get rid of it?

Is it ture that a person must fast before they take the test to see if they're diabetic or not?

If so, how many hours? I hope, wish, & pray that I'm not diabetic. Is numbness a sign? I know I'm black & overweight, which are such factors. I'm so scared.

My lovers health problem... How can I help him?

My boyfriend called me to do that he was told he was mildly agoraphobic, and if he didn’t do well on these medication he’s taking, then he will have to be put into the hospital. It was a shock for me. I love this man, he’s a great guy. I have known he is paranoid around large crowds since we started dating. Lately, He has gotten worse. He won’t leave the house with me to go shopping. If he does go he flips out and runs out the store, in tears. I feel bad, because I can tell he wants to go out and he talks about taking me out if he could. I don’t know how to help him. Any advice or tips to make it easier on him and me.

Tonsil Problems?

I have gotten tonsillitis three times in the past four months. It has been a seperate case each time [the symptoms went away and then came back]. My doctor told me that; in Canada; you need to have to 5 documented cases to be considered for tonsil removal. I have had problems with my tonsils for almost 3 years now and the last specialist I saw refused to take them out, saying it would do me better if he left the tonsils in. Is there any truth to leaving tonsils in even though I get sick every couple months?

What's wrong with my birthmark/mole?!?!?

I have had a birthmark/mole on my back for a couple years that was bothersome but never caused much pain. After being out in the sun all day it is now throbbing and the skin around it is very red and sensitive. It also seems to have gotten swollen, and even wearing a shirt over it is painful. Do you think I should make a Dr.'s appointment tomorrow or see what happens in a few days?

Why do people drag there small children into the hospital to visit a sick pt?

Why on earth would you want your small child to come to visit a relative when they are sick in the hospital? So many people bring there screaming babies and toddlers into visit. What is the point. Do you look at the hospital as a social event? Do you understand we take care of people with very infectious disease such as TB, hepatitis, Pneumonia, and these people poop and urinate on the floor, the same floor you let your kids crawl around on. Do you know most nurses would like for you to take your screaming kids home and sick pts are not interested in your kids?
