Go to the doctor. It could be a hernia or a cyst. Not enough info to say.

I have a hernia right above my belly-button. I have had it for years. It won't get better, only worse. The doc would like me to lose some weight before he would operate on it. I'm losing weight now so sometime after I've lost more, I'll be getting the surgery. Right now, it is hard when I just touch it, but if I press on it hard, it is a bit tender and I can feel it push back into the intestinal wall. Sometimes people live with hernias for many years. I am an example of that, but I know that I will eventually need the surgery. Many hernia operations are now performed laposcopically with only a couple little slits and then a little camera with a tool on it goes into those little slits and the doc operates by looking at a tv of your insides.

Anyway, as far as your insurance goes..You have to be careful with some insurances. Even if you are there the 90 days and your insurance kicks in, they might not cover the doc or the operation because they say that they won't cover a "pre-existing condtion." That means that you had the condition before you were hired. I'm not sure how long you have had your condition, but there is probably someone at work that knows about your plan. You need to talk to that person you really need to go as soon as you can to the doc. It's not an emergency, but your doc can tell you for sure if it is a hernia and how long you can safely wait before you have surgery. And then go see the doc. Hope that helped.

it may be hernia or cyst? If it is hernia than try to press with your finger tip if it is reducible, and margins are diffuse not palpable it may be hernia O.K........If margins are well circumscribed , lesion is tense, non reduce able it may be cyst....in both condition better to go to Dr.

A clear case of someone contemplating their navel too much. If it is not causing you any pain or dysfunction, ignore it.
