Yes, blood pressure is not the only thing that is involved in causing strokes and heart attacks. You could have a stroke if you had very high blood pressure, but many people who have strokes had normal blood pressure. The same goes for heart attacks. A BP of 110/60 is certainly a good number, but it is only one factor in maintaining your health.

Yes, and if you suspect such, you should immediately seek ER attention. As the sooner they can run a cat scan and detect a stroke the sooner they can inhibit its damage as well, the sooner they can run an ekg they can determine if there is any heart damage or irregularities that should be noted. These are not to be taken lightly. I'm currently Daddy sitting because he had an aorta pump failure, which is a heart attack that stops the pump and floods the heart in blood - he woke up with no pain, but just had a sensation of things not being right - had he not, he would be dead - he's now had a four-way bypass - time was of essence.

Absolutely !!!
A stroke or heart attack is caused by the blockage of an artery. This is usually caused by fatty plaque build up or a piece of plaque that broke free and floated around until it clogged up an artery. The other ways would be for a bleed to occur or a blood clot to move around like the plaque.

Absolutely. Bloodpressure readings are a specific result of a test taken at a specific time. It varies with each person throughout the day - depending on food intake, or drink, emotions, etc. You could have an incident whether it's high, low, or inbetween.

Yes...I think so...my blood pressure is very low...like 80/45, but if I don't eat properly (lots of dark green leafy vegetables), don't get enough sleep, or drink coffee on a regular basis...I've found myself having serious chest pains.
