I know, I know, "gingivitis causes gum inflammation", however I went to the dentist about 3 weeks ago (and got my braces off like, 4 weeks ago) and she said I had really healthy gums for someone that just got their braces off. So, I'm guessing it's NOT gingivitis...

When they bleed, I notice they do have little cuts in some spots. It mostly likely is because I'm brushing too hard. But I can't not brush hard or else I don't feel my teeth are cleaned properly...and it's not overly hard, it just feels like my gums are overly sensitive. Any way I can stop this?

I had to have a crown put on one of my bottom molars about 7 years ago. I noticed a couple of weeks ago, while flossing, that I have a piece of it missing now. Does anyone know if the dentist who put it in is liable to replace it for me at no charge?

Sunday night my gums were slightly sore and became increasingly swollen since then. I also have a slight pain in a very tiny section of my jaw. Is this food in gums, an infection, or possibly wisdom teeth coming in? What is a quick fix solution to the swelling until i can get into the dentist?

I am going to the dentist Monday, since thats the next time they are open. I am 20 years old and just had a cleaning 2 months ago. Any help would be much appretiated.

About a year ago, I had an accident that resulted in the loss of 4 of my upper front teeth.. The dentist pulled the broken ones and installed a 6 tooth long bridge that attached itself to both of my canines. I have a metal plate underneath, and the bridge is permanent (at least for ten years or so), but there appears to be a gap of space between the bridge and my upper gums. Should this be there?... Shouldn't the bridge be pushed all the way up to the gum to hide any spacing in between?... It looks horrible when I smile because of the blackness from the gap... makes my mouth look somewhat rotten to those who do not know that what they are seeing is a gap between the bridge and gums. The first time my dentist was to install the bridge, it turned out that the lab has made it in the incorrect size, so I had to come back... he seemed skiddish upon installing the second one, I think he knew it didn't fit correctly, but installed it anyway to save time and money for himself. What can I do?

I have a REAL bad tooth ache, and dentist is closed for holiday. I think if I page him personally, he would call in a RX for me till tommorrow when I can go in. I am on Vicodin now for back pain, and only get so many per month from my MD. I used a few addtl for this PAIN in my tooth, but I dont want to run out too early and have none for my back pain. Is it legit to get another pain script filled within the same week from 2 different doctors? How will my insurance company take this? Can the pharm even fill another script for me for pain meds?
Thanks0-- these meds now for my back pain arent really even touching the tooth pain for too long.. OHHHHHWWCC

The crown and filling from a previous root canal, have come out. I guess i need to go to the dentist and get a new one. but my insurance only covers 1000$ or so. How much does a crown and filling cost? also, do i need to a specific kind of dentist for this?

I had extensive gingivitis due to negligence of dental hygiene. I had plaque removed by the dentist. After a few weeks the periodontist remove some of the gingiva with the use of a cauterizer and put some white substance as a bandage. What do you call this white substance? What is the procedure in doing gingivectomy? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? What will the periodontist do after a week?

i bleached my teeth twice in two days using the bleach NiteWhite. I did it earlier today and about 30 min in, right before i was about to take out my invisalign ( what the bleach was in ), my left molar gave me a SHOCKING burst of pain like my nerves got stabbed with a knife. Throughout the day its been coming and going. IT HAS NOT DONE THIS SINCE I USED THE BLEACH.My tooth is killing me. Why did it do that?

I was wondering if I should get braces?
How long does it take, from what I heard some people take 4 or plus years to get it off. Incredibly long, as far as I'm concerned. But I heard others got it off in a year, I'm amazed.

And as for me, I really just bothered by my top front teeth (4 of them) two are pushed in and 2 pushed out slightly. So I was wondering if you can actually fix it (the top part) really cuz I really don't care about the ones in the back, not that it's not straight or anything. My friend only fixed her front, does it cost more expensive, I know some orthodontist wanna fix both sets of teeth, but I don't want to stand pain on both the top and bottom.

I've heard of Damon braces too but I think they're quite expensive. Please share your experience on financial issues, time issues or types of braces that are recommended. It would be great if you include where you got your braces and from which orthodontists in ontario (toronto specifically) area. Thanks!

Hi
I had an impacted tooth extracted on the 17th. In about 3 days time I developed a dry socket. I was initially unaware but when it continued to hurt, I went to my dentist. A pack was inserted. I had pretty good temporary relief that lasted for a day. It continues to hurt though now. It is the 25th now.

How long will it take to heal? Can u give me a fair idea at least?

This dry socket thingi is driving me crazy!
Pls help.

My older sister says that teeth can heal themselves (even holes in teeth) if they are taken very good care of. Is that true?

I have not only very unhealthy teeth, but an undersized lower jaw. Both of which is causing quite a bit of health problems (from digestive difficulties to sleep apnia). With this being not merely dental, can my health insurance be used to fund some way of fixing this problem?
