My mother has a lower partial. She has only 3 real teeth on the lower. A lower left molar anchor tooth, a lower right molar anchor tooth & a lower right bicuspid. The lower right bicuspid is ready to fall out & it's hurting her. She asked her dentist if he could take it out & add another tooth on the partial. I am a dental asst. & from what I learned in school, what she wants done is possible isnt it? To extract the lower right bicuspid & add another tooth to the partial. He told her absolutely not & he will not do it. Why would he say this? Any help please.

I'm considering to purchase this toothbrush:

Reason being is that it's difficult to get behind my wisdom teeth, and my hand always tends to get tired half-way. Another one of my concern is are the bristles generally hard and can damage gums?

My dentist said cold stuff for the first 48 hours then hot for 3 days. She said only soft bland foods and lots of liquids. I'm starving! What is something good to eat that will be safe?

I've heard that you can take a course to get a dental radiology license or something? Where can I attend one in LA?? Especially one that's really cheap!

Do your wisdom teeth have to be fully grown in in order to get them pulled out? Also, any idea how much it costs? Thanks.

Hi all, I have had gums that bleed for a while now. I also have swollen patches in between my teeth. I looked up gingivitis and this is what I seem to have. I get my teeth cleaned regularaly and the last time I went the problem to me was very evident but my dentist never once mentioned anything to me about my gums not looking healthy. I figured if they looked to have something wrong he would have said something right? The entire time he was cleaning my teeth I could taste blood in my mouth. I brush at least twice a day, most time I brush three times a day. I floss every morning and night, and I listerine every time I floss too. I have had braces for 7 years which I'm guessing is what is causing me to not be able to keep my teeth as clean as possible. I was just wondering if this does sound like gum disease and if I should go back to the dentist even though I was there a month ago. Or should I see a different dentist?

I mean, it doesn't hurt him, and in a few short years he will lose it. It just sounds like a big ordeal to get it done, and somewhat costly. I never had cavities till I was older, and I have never heard of such young kids getting teeth filled, until this, so I have no pratical experiance to draw from. Anybody out there have some info?

I have a problem with crooked teeth. My top teeth are not perfect but that is nothing compared to my bottom teeth.

I have 5 teeth that are not straight that line up about the middle of my lip. When I was incarcracted a dentist told me that there was this 1 tooth that blocking the lining up of my bottom teeth and if that was pulled the other teeth would fall into line and would look a lot better.

What is the average price for teeth pulling in Dollars in AMerica, specifically New York.

When I was three, I fell out of a {parked} car and my front teeth got knocked out. I had to learn how to make my "s" and "sh" sounds from the right side of my mouth, I know how to make my "sh" sounds normally. But whenever I make an "s" sound, my mouth kind of goes to the right, or my jaw does, something like that.
I've tried to make the "s" sound normally without my jaw moving, but it makes me feel like I have a lisp or something, or it sounds weird.
Oh, AND I have an expander on the roof of my mouth.

Are there any simple methods that can help me fix this?

Had a root canal on monday last wk. Got home pain was unbearable. Doc gave me antibiotics and pain meds. Next morning face, gum swollen and right side of face numb. Went to see doc next day, he said it has abscessed. More antibiotics and pain meds. Thursday still no better he consulted with oral surgeon, gave me Flagyl and medrol and ceflacor. Friday was feeling alright. Sat.and Sun. was the same as before. Still feel so much pressure and face still swollen and face still numb. Now I am achey all over, back of my head hurts, hurts in sinus area and in gum area. Dentist said the infection was in my jaw. I asked about him cutting the gum and letting it drain but he said it was to close to the nerve in my jaw and no one would do it. Could the infection still be in there after all these antibiotics? Could the infection be spreading? Need help as to what to do now.

I had a bad toothache, and a bad cold over the past few days. I have been taking Advil and cough medicine at the same time, I have never had any problem with Advil before, I am in my late 40's, I have been taking approx 8 Advil a day about 6 hours apart, this morning I woke up with bad stomach pain. I have heard that two much Advil can upset the stomach. After I ate something in the afternoon my stomach felt alot better. My stomach has not bothered me since its been almost 12 hours. I figured I would wait 24 hours before I took more Advil if my tooth still hurt. My cold is all better, tomorrow I go to the dentist. Do you think I overdid it with the Advil it has never bothered me before.

Thought that I'd already posted this question, oh well here we again:

My cap fell off one of my incisors, and I was wondering whether it would be possible to use fixodent (or similar product) to keep it in place for the time being?

My insurance won't kick in again until January and I don't know if this was a cap put on by my current dentist or the one I used to see last year.

My worry is that the adhesive might work too well and damage what is left of the tooth when to cap has to come off and affixed permanently once more.

I recently noticed a large bump in the center of my hard palate, and someone told me it's probably torus palatinus. However, I'm still a bit concerned and I have absolutely no means to get to the dentist (out of state, no car, in college, finals week, etc). It's really hard, slightly pale and narrow. I smoke, but not a whole lot as I've been trying to quit. I also haven't been smoking very long. I'm 18 years old. There's really no way it could be anything bad, right?
