Do your wisdom teeth have to be fully grown in in order to get them pulled out? Also, any idea how much it costs? Thanks.

No. I've had all mine removed; 3 pulled and one surgically removed. Mine were not all the way out, but my dentist didn't have any problems pulling them. The one that I did have to have surgically removed had not come out at all, and in fact, was impacted.

The price probably will depend on your area. It can run from $125 for a simple extraction to $650 for surgery. Sometimes medical insurance will pay part of the cost.

Hope this helps.

It doesn't have to be fully erupted, meaning the entire thing is out. Some wisdom teeth are impacted meaning only the crown is out. In this case, oral surgery is performed by a dental surgeon. It takes about three hours to pull out a pair (up and down) and two doctors to do it. The cost depends on where you are.

Wisdom teeth begin to come in during late teenage years and can be extracted at any time deemed 'necessary'. Costs vary by dentist, region and degree of difficulty and may not be covered by your dental plan if their extraction is not medically necessary. Plan on a minimum of $150 per tooth.

the younger you are when you have them out the better. once the roots fully grow in the more complications or pain there may be.

as for price it varies depending on the stage of eruption each tooth is and if you choose to get IV sedation to get put out.

i had IV sedation and 4 teeth out when i was 15, i believe it was $1,500, but that was 15 years ago.

IT'S EASIER TO REMOVE THESE WHEN THE ROOTS ARE NOT FULLY FORMED. THE PRICE VARIES DEPENDING ON WHO DOES THIS AND WHERE THEY WORK AND HOW IT'S DONE.
