do i have to make appointment with dentist[3 weeks waiting list] for antibiotics or can i get them from my doctor[next day]

You need to see a dentist, as people above have said your doctor wont prescribe medication for dental complaints.
If you have to wait 3 weeks try what Melly has suggested and ring nhs direct.
Dental registration was done away with on April 1st 2006 so you are entitled to go to any surgery providing nhs treatment and ask if they have any nhs appointments available, if they have they are entitled to see you.

Hi, a doctor will not do anything to treat dental problems (including infections). If you ring NHS direct they will be able to give you the number of an emergency dentist who normally get you in the same day. An infection needs immediate treatment and cannot wait 3 weeks, it will only get worse.

hi Ive got it to no you have to see the dentist Dr will not give you anything but all the dentist have long waiting lists

doctors don't usually prescribe med for dental problems and vice versa.

i would suggest calling another dentist and get in sooner.

they may be able to find you a dentist quicker as you are symptomatic
