She could have an ear infection, try placing a warm face cloth just below her ear it'll help the tube to clear.

Might be an ear infection. If she is in pain, don't let it go for more then a few days before you see a Dr. My daughter burst both eardrums from ear infections (but went on to have normal hearing and near-perfect pitch).
A pharmacy might have ear drops you can use to relieve the pain (but not the cause of the pain). I'm not sure if the ones we used were prescription or not. To call and ask your pharmacy if it's available over the counter would be good. I'm not sure if 6 months is too young for the drops, so be sure to mention that.

My 1 1/2 year old god brother was doing this for a while. They said his ear was dry and was infected. But he had eczema.

TAKE HER TO dR ASAP. This is very typical of a young child who has an ear infection, They don't tell u , but take her in for a check up and if no problem. see a dentist..good luck
