I've heard on those entertainment news channels about certain celebs who've had them but I really don't see any difference when they show the before and after of that star so that's why I've been wondering what they are? How do they make your teeth look better? Do they make your teeth appear more white?

When reporting for an appoint with my 3 year old daughter this morning, the dental assistant told me that I'd have to remain in the waiting room. When I asked, "You don't allow a parent to be present during the examination and treatment of a 3 year old?" She responded; "That's our policy." I've never enountered this kind of limitation where such a small child is concerned; Not with our previous dentist, not with doctor's visists, etc. With older school age children or teens, this would be more understandable, but not with a child that young. I've reviewed the Texas Board of Licensure's rules of professional conduct, and this issue is not addressed.

months and see what happens claiming if I want them pulled it will be easier then (as they are all finally out of the gum and now falling into place), or just have them filled and leave them in. This was a dental surgeon but Ive always thought they should always be taken out and cant the cavities get worse and cause major problems in 6 months?

My ? is I dont think I am getting enough protein due to I eat through a special straw. I eat meat broth but have to strain it well so it doesnt get stuck in my teeth. Can anyone suggest a good shake or natural food so I consume enough protein so my muscles dont start disappearing. my doctor told me to blend the meat in the soup and dont strain it but that beomes a mess with my braces.

I made plans to get braces for a long time and when I finally decided to get them I notice that my gums are bleeding when I brush my teeth and I can see plaque form near my gum line.
Would I still be able to get braces or do I have to wait until this clears up if so how long?

I have heard that once your past a certain age, braces don't do no good to align you teeth. If so, what age does it have to be done by?

Although it's a very small chip, I almost had a heart attack when it happened. Everyone said it's too small to even notice. I had an appointment with a cosmetic dentist who proposed that they a) patch the chip with composite resin (bonding) or b) replace the entire veneer. A new veneer isn't in my budget and I had bonding 1st which I hated ( stained and thick). My original dentist lead me to believe that veneers don't chip or break. Was I mislead? Any repair suggestions?

Thanks

I had a question about straightening my teeth. I had braces when I was 13 and they told me I had to remove 2 teeth and I told them Hellz no (I was thinkin too much about the pain back then), but I took the braces anyway...Had 'em for 3 years and they hardly did anything...so I took em off and my teeth still are misaligned. I'm now 21 and was wondering what would be the fastest way to straighten my teeth(something that won't be messed up 15 years down the line)...
What would you recommend? Should I suffer though more years of braces? Or is there a quicker way.

Also what is the average price range for these procedures?
Thank you.

I had braces twice. The first time i got them from a dentist when i was 15, who fooled me into getting them from him and totally messed my teeth. I had to get braces again at age 20, and this time, i went to an Orthodontist. Since i had braces previously, the result of my teeth wasn't as great, but a lot better. I spent a lot of money (10 grand in total) and looking back, i wonder why the heck the government allows dentists, who know very little about braces, to do orthodontic treatment? It's like my family physician doing a heart surgery. It's very frustrating!

Hello,
When i was younger i had a root canal done on one of my back teeth on the right hand side. This has never given me any problem until last week when i felt a uncomfortable pain in this tooth. I went to the dentist yesterday, she said i had an infection in my root canal and gave me Amoxcillin, she then told me i would have to go to the hospital and have this tooth removed. Can anyone tell me another way of doing this as i dont want to loose a tooth and have a gap (even if it is at the back). Can anyone tell me how long it also take to heal? as she told me they may have to cut into my gum.
Also i am going away on holiday in 3 weeks, if i take this Amoxcillin for the week im supposed to, is there a good chance that the infection may start again while i am away?!
Someone Please Help!

Thank you..
