Hey all

for months ive been getting pain when i bite down on my tooth, but it quickly dissappears when i stop, so i finally decided to look it up on thr internet, andfound out it was cracked tooth, and i can also see the lines down the tooth where the pain is, also i can see a few lines down a few more of my teeth which dont hurt? only that one does, its the bottom front tooth and the crack looks very deep. also ive noticed i got brown stains between some of my teeth, and a slight chip on one.
i should get a dentists appointment sometime within next week,
but does anyone know what treatment would have to be done to fix these problems? its extraction what worrys me lol :D

There are so many brands of toothpaste out nowadays that do so many things like Whitening,Gum protection,Fresh Breathe etc but what actual toothpaste works that actually prevents you from Dental treatment, from Plaque Gum disease etc and huge dental bills too.I use Colgate Total is there a better one?

I need major work (I had an accident and lost a tooth) and I am being told by my dentist that I have to pay out of pocket 60%. This seems so high to me, expecially when I pay out the butt for dental insurance every month! Is all dental insurance like this? Are discount dental programs better? I can't afford to pay 60% of my dental work. Its going to be over $3000. Does this make sense? Whats the point of getting dental insurance if you still have to pay ridiculous amounts of money anyway?

My dentist put on self-ligating brackets, so do I even need the colorful ligatures at all?

Also, what are the benefits of these types of brackets versus other kinds?

I have been having a gnawing pain on and off for probaly 6 mths or so on the right side of my face only (ear, jaw, tooth)...I made a dentist appt and he said my right back wisdom tooth was abscessed and put me on antibiotics, but he didnt really give me much info on what a abscess was and from my research this is pretty dangerous...My tooth doesnt look black or decayed or anything, but I have noticed a pimple like bump right beside of that tooth...Can I just up and die from this or are there warning signs? Why does the pain come and go? I am really freaking out about this and I cant get into my dentist to get it pulled for 3 more weeks!! Will a extraction completley take care of it or what if it has already spread? Anyone had experiences with a abscess..if so I would love to hear your stories and how you handled it? Am I just being paranoid? Sorry I know this is alot of ?s....thanks for your time!

My face is swollen from my wisdom tooth to the corner of my mouth. My gland under my chin isn't very tender any more, but my cheek is huge! Dr says it's normal for some people to experience this. When will the swelling go away? Will I need different antibiotics to clear this up? HELP!!!

Hi,

I have a rotted tooth(well it certainly looks dark in it's centre) which I am having filled next week. I am however a little worried that the dentist might say he cannot save it, But the thing is it has not caused me any pain yet whatsoever.

He should most likely be able to fill it, surely? If it has caused me no pain? Any reasurance appreciated.

Ok so I had Tooth # 7 for those that don’t know tooth 7 is the front right removed due to two root canals that seem to fail . I got a bridge because honestly I can afford a implant the bridge cost me 1700 dollars because I got the temp bridge cemented in as we speak I was not really that educated on the bridge and the fact they cut down two healthy teeth
My dentist just told me they place something over the teeth I didn’t know it had to be cut down in order to place the bridge , I understand now after I got it done , but now I feel like o great here comes the money 1700 dollars there I paid , I go back to the dentist in two month to put the permanent on , but the only way I feel now is wow this will fail in 5 ten years I’m 26 and here goes more money and problems plus now I feel I will have other problems with the healthy teeth I just couldn’t pay 3,500 for a implant when they wanted 1000 down right away . to even start the procedure for the implant other places wanted the full amoun

Ok it was Wednesday March 21, 2007 at 10am I had a dental appointment and I was going to have 2 composite fillings on the lower jaw on the left premolars. After when they finished i noticed my lower left lip had some swelling and of course bleeding. Then a few hours later It started to get even more bigger and swelling and it was difficult to eat and drink. Then I went called my dentist after hours emergency than he saw my lower left lip and he was saying that it look like i bit my lip, But Im wondering why would I bit my lip and It got so swollen. It got to the point that it got so swollen bigger than my nose. Then I go to the ER Room and they were saying the same thing because the dentist went there with me and told them. My opinion what i think is the dentist is trying to cover his part so the general dentistry will not lose his business. I think its was possible that they didnt steralize the instruments properly or they inject the needle at the wrong place. Please help.

I have a really bad cavity that is absolutely killing me. The dentist was supposed to get to it on the 20th but ended up doing two other ones that weren't even really causing me pain, and had to wait on this one until next week.

The tooth is absolutely killing me and I don't know what to do. Orajel isn't helping at all.

My husband happens to have Ultram (Tramadol) which I know can help tooth pain, but I can't take it because I'm 8 months pregnant (I'd assume I can't take it).

What are my options until I can get to the Dentist? I can't even get to sleep right now because the pain is so bad. Is there any home remedies that work and help lessen the pain?

A person told me that when my wisdom teeth grow in they'll fill in all the gaps in my teeth, so now I'm really curious. My teeth are like all straight in a line and I only have just a couple gaps between my teeth which arent very big. My wisdom teeth are already starting to grow in and so far I think my teeth have moved closer together. Does anybody know if the growth of wisdom teeth will push my teeth closer together and close those gaps?
(I really wanna avoid braces..)
