I have a really bad cavity that is absolutely killing me. The dentist was supposed to get to it on the 20th but ended up doing two other ones that weren't even really causing me pain, and had to wait on this one until next week.

The tooth is absolutely killing me and I don't know what to do. Orajel isn't helping at all.

My husband happens to have Ultram (Tramadol) which I know can help tooth pain, but I can't take it because I'm 8 months pregnant (I'd assume I can't take it).

What are my options until I can get to the Dentist? I can't even get to sleep right now because the pain is so bad. Is there any home remedies that work and help lessen the pain?

Try swishing around some saltwater (tap water & table salt) in your mouth. It should take the pain away atleast for awhile and is safe to repeat. You can also try gently brushing your teeth with a mild paste to sort of massage the gums. Try swishing around mouth wash even. With your doctors consent, take 1 or 2 Tylenol Arthritis pills before bed.

I think your best bet would be Advil. Take 2 of them, because otherwise, the pain dos not go away, as I have delt with the same thing . Oh I feel bad for you, mainly because you are pregnant, and need to be careful. If it is really, really bad, call your Dr. or go to the hospital, and they will know what to give you. I do not think a couple of Advil will hurt at all, but you need to get that tooth taken care of ASAP. Good Luck.

Go to your local store, such as Wal-Mart and buy yourself like a cavity filler for tooth aches in the health section... not exactly sure on the location, but I've had to buy that stuff before. I know how bad a tooth ache is. I hope you feel better soon.

put some hydrogen peroxide in to your mouth and swirl it around near the cavity. it,ll fizz all the pain away but spit it out
while it,s fizzing. don,t swallow it .it won,t harm you in small amounts if you let some slide down your throat. it says you can use it for mouth wash anyways on the bottle. i gargle with it when i have a severe sore throat and swollen tonsils.

Is there an over the counter pain med you can take? If you're not sure call your local hospital and ask.
