What do you think about regrowing your teeth?

I have noitced many universities and private researchers have been filing patents on ways to promote tooth regroth. One is a ultra-sound device that is placed near the location of the tooth as is to be regrown. This device runs from 20 mins a day and in 4 months a tooth. Now that is some magic!
Another dental researcher had developed a compound of cemicals that promotes tooth regrowth just by bathing the old tooth location in the compound.

So would you perfer a really badly damages tooth. Like one with a root canal, or a crown. Be removed and regrown?

Or does the growing of a new tooth scare you a bit?

And if they can regrow one. How about a complete regrowth. That way you can also have them alined perfectly?

Your thoughts?

I had another tooth pulled last tuesday and it did not want to come out. It opened the "scar" from the previous extraction behind it and bled for 4 hours. Now, a week or so later, the extraction site is hard on the outside edges (the tongue side and the cheek side) but very soft and "liquidy" on the inside where the tooth was. This is very different from all my other extractions. Is there anything that I should be worried about?

I have been doing some research on how to really prevent cavities and now to strengthen the enamal on teeth. Enamal is really the only protection we have from getting cavities. Enamal stops growing 2 years after the adult tooth has come in. Thus over 20 years or so your enamal become worn down and thins out. The body does not rebuild enamal as it does bone.
But great news three products on the market helps restore the mineral componets that produce enamal in teeth. Thus they harden the enamal and harded the weakened spots on the enamal. The first one is a mouthwash made by johnson & johnson called ACT manufactored by reach. The second one is Trident White sugarless Gum. The third is Armon & Hammer enamal care toothpast.
The first two you can get at Wal-Mart. I have not be able to get the Last one yeat. But i can tell you that i have already noticed a great difference in the look and feel of my teeth using the first 2.

My notes for Periodontics says that the clinical healthy depth of the gingival sulcus is 1-3mm but says that the histologic depth is 1.5-1.8mm. It then says "why is there a difference?". Does anyone know what "histologic depth" of the gingival sulcus means?

My son 's two front teeth are now halfway missing, he fell in gym while playing tag and we rushed him to the dentist. The dentist put some medicine on it saying they were in shock and we will see him next week for the white fill ins. Has anyone ever had their permanent teeth knocked out or majorly chipped? I don't know how this will effect him in the future, medically and his self-image.

I had a very infected tooth extracted yesterday(2/15) and the dentist had trouble getting the whole tooth out! So, after much prodding, pulling, yanking, extreme pain and cutting, he got the last remaining piece of impacted tooth out! Well, he told me it would hurt a couple days, but I woke up today and I kid you not I had the worst pain I have ever experienced!(right up there with labor~!) anyway, no pain killers are touching the pain and i have been nautious and achy all day and felt lots of chills and fever! I finally went to my neighbor's house to check my temp and I only had the thermometer in like 2 minutes and it skyrocketed up to 103! Tell me, it is just getting worse, I can't get ahold of the dentist, do I need to go to emergency room??!! if i had a gun, i would probably shoot myself, that is how much pain i am in!

Is it ok to leave it that long? I also have head gear. Is it a bad idea to wear it with a band thats slipping down?

How come the dentists don't recommend warm water for teeth brushing? It's recommended for washing dishes, counters, clothes, etc. to kill bacteria and germs. Does anyone think it would be more effective to use warm water with toothpaste or that it doesn't matter.

Whenever I have something really cold it goes right to the root and for a few seconds it really hurts and then subsides.. this also happens if I drink through a straw, press on the affected tooth or have anything sweet. Do I need a toothpaste for sensitive teeth or do I need to go see my dentist for a root canal? Only expert opinions please!

I got braces in my teeth a few years ago, after the treatment was done, i got this wire behind my lower teeth put in, and i have had this for about a year now. This week, a small piece broke from behind the lower front teeth, it looks white and there is a small hole behind one of my teeth now, I was wondering if this was a piece of tooth or not, because it looks dried, and no tooth like.

It is best to immediately brush after eating the meal, or one should wait for 20 mins. Some people say that there is acid in the food , so if you brush immediately after eating , you are doing more harm than any good.

Will eating sweets causes trouble for periodontal patients even if you brush immediately after consuming it ?

Is tea good or bad for the teeth ? As tea is acidic, can it affect the tooth enamel.

Can prescribed mouthrinses help to control periodontal disease ?

What about taking Coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) for gums disease ?

I need to do whatever it takes to come to good oral health, so any good advice will be helpful.
