I had 7 cavities filled. Immediately after I had tooth pain in two areas. That was 5 months ago and the pain is still there and I think its getting worse. It hurts every time I brush my teeth (the cold water hurts it, icecream really hurts to eat, even cool water hurts.) I have been waiting for the new year so I can get benefits again. There are other dentists in the office. Should I ask them to re-ex-ray and see what they did wrong.? Should I ask them to fix it without having to pay them/or bill my insurance?. I want it fixed but I don't want to run into them just creating more problems. Should I just cut my losses and go to another dental office all together? Anybody else out there who has had a similar problem?

I went to the dentist today and he took xrays. He told me that I was lucky because I have NO wisdom teeth at all. They never came in and never will.. I thought it was strange... Have you or anyone you know never gotten your wisdom teeth, or been told you have no wisdom teeth?

Last August I noticed a tooth beginning to protrude from my gums. My family dentist had a look at it and told me that I didn't have anything to worry about for the time being and that it was just an adult tooth that had come late (I'm 20). However, now it seems to be protruding from my gum at a very odd angle and rubbing up against the inside of my lip (it's a canine) and is changing the angle of the adult tooth beside it. The baby canine has yet to fall out. I'm worried as I am a student and have no dental insurance and my family doesn't have much money at this time of the year. I've never had a problem like this before. Should I be worried? Will I need orthodontics?

Her teeth are a little bit crooked - but it's not the first thing you notice about her - if at all. The dentists say there *could* be problems down the road if we don't put braces on her. I don't think I can get an honest answer from the dentists. They've been trying to get her into the orthodontist office since she was eight years old. She takes good care of her teeth - and has never had a cavity.

Most of her friends have braces. It seems like it's just "what you do" here in America. Does she really need them or has our society gone glamour crazy? I never had them. My teeth are quite straight but I have a noticeable overbite. I think it gives me character.

The insurance pays a minimal amount. They'll run about 10K. What do you think - are they really necessary? Do we spring for them (it would be a hardship - 10K is 3 times more than what I spent on my car) or do we just hope people will like her even though her teeth are not perfectly straight?
