I have started washing my mouth out with cold salt water. I used to use warm but it became too annoying as sometimes my hot water wouldnt be on although i don't know if either cold or warm salt water is ok to use daily.
Any help would be much appreciated

warm salt water is generally best as warm as is comfortable to you!The warmth in the water increases the blood supply to the area thus speeding up the healing process the salt has the effect of drawing out any swelling to the area caused by fluid or infection which reduces the pressure on nerve endings and so reducing pain. The use of regular mouthwashes are not neccessary as they can upset the natural balance of "good bacteria"in the mouth causing more problems. The main thing is to have good oral hygiene flossing or the use of dental sticks(cleaning between your teeth)and a good quality toothbrush which must be backed up with good toothbrushing technique...you could have the best toothbrush in the world but what you do with it counts

Salt water is very good I have had several ops in my mouth and was told by the consultant that it was the best thing other mouth washes contain far too many chemicals and it can irritate ideally it is better if dissolved in boiled water and then left to go cold

salty water is a great mouthwash and hot, or cold is fine......
although a word of caution, its not advisable to use the hot water tap......if you want to disolve the salt, boil some water and let it cool...hope this helps.

It's the salt in the water that kills the bacteria, so the temperature isn't important.
