I had my wisdom teeth extracted in May. Since then, I've been in terrible pain-shooting ear pain, to the point where I'm in tears. It feels like I'm in an airplane 24/7. I've been to an ENT and dentist, but to no avail. I'm a college student and this pain is affecting every aspect of my life. What is it and how can i TREAT it?

I mean, I went to public shools and the dental hygeinist visited every year in elementary school to demonstrate with the big toothbrush and the big teeth every year, gave everyone toothbrush and toothpaste, etc... I mean it's pretty easy. But these guests on Home Delivery and 10 Years Younger and all that ilk, they're only like 25 with 1 half-rotten tooth remaining in the front, a few crows and bridges, and that's it! They look like hillbillies. Is there some kind of hereditary disorder that gives such relatively young people such horrible teeth? Do they eat rock candy (sugar crystals) every meal and do meth?? What's up with that???

Hello, I have my last milk tooth which is a molar. It is just a little loose and has been for a few months. However, I think food has found its way up into the little crack and is rotting by the root of my tooth. If I put my finger to try and loosen my tooth by the tiny exposed area, there is a very strong rotting odor. What do I do?? Thanks!

For the longest time now my back teeth sometimes hurt when I eat chocolate or anything else really sweet. (Also does it with candy corn.) Anyone know what that could be?

I am taking my 7 yr old to have baby root canal work done tomorrow. She is pretty nervous and so am I.
I would like to hear from parents who have been in the same situation that can offer any advice.
How did your child cope, how long did it take, what kind of pain relief was used?
Any info from parents and indeed dentists would be greatly appreciated.

I have a custom made hard night guard that fits snuggly over my teeth. It seems that when I wear it I wake up with a slightly sour taste in my mouth. I think this is due to the lack of circulation of saliva? Anywhoo, could this type of night guard promote tooth decay?

My filling fell out of my tooth and I was looking at my dental insurance policy and it says Amalgam one surface, two surface, three surface and so on what does the surface mean? does one surface mean one tooth and two surfaces mean two teeth? I'm confused. Does anyone know?

the inside lining of my mouth is starting to peel, or something like that. i'm not sure why, so i was wondering what you guys thought, or if it has happened to you, and whether or not i should see a doctor. its been going on now for like 2 days. i had recently started a whole new oral healthcare thing and not sure if maybe that is what had caused it? or if something more sinister at work... i also have a tongue ring, but i doubt that could cause it since i've had it for almost a year now. plus, its like my WHOLE mouth thats peeling. help?

I was brushing my teeth on Saturday morning and a friend arrived at my house. I began brushing my teeth faster so that my friend didn't have to wait. My wrist was like a blur as I frantically brushed my teeth. Faster and faster I brushed then suddenly........... CRACK ! my toothbrush left my mouth and rammed up my nose. There was blood everwhere and my skull felt like it had split open.

Later that night I went out with some friends and told my story and to my amazement a friends wife told me that she did this on a regulary basis ! anyone else ram there toothbrush up there nose ?

I'll be getting my first detal checkup on the 11/11/06. Then an X-ray for my teeth. Afterwards it would time to get the spacers and the braces. Honestly i'm very scared of pain and i wanna know exactly what would happen for the first trip to the dentist when i'm going to get the spacers. Would the pain be so worse that i would probably end up just laying on bed all week? If yes, what is the best thing to do to reduce the pain???

I have been using smokeless tobaccoo for 9 years, I woke up yesterday, and out of the blue, my left cheek was really sore. I felt my cheek, and there is a lump in my left cheek. I looked in my mouth, and there is no sign of anything wrong on the inside of my cheek such as lesions, swelling, redness, etc, but I can feel the lump in there. I woke up today and the soreness is still there, but it is not nearly as bad. However, the "lump" is still there. Could I just have slept on the left side of my face in an uncomfortable position and created a deep tissue bruise? The soreness has DEFINITELY gone down which is making me think it is just a bruise and I am being a hypochondriac. I am going to make an appointment with a specialist just to be sure, but has anyone ever had something similar to this? I have always been vigilant about checking my mouth for pre cancerous signs, but I have never had anything wrong. Any thoughts at all would be appreciated.

I read that there is an over the counter pill that kids can chew on after brushing that will stain the teeth red if there is any plaque.

Does anyone know if these are safe, how they work and what are some of the common brand names available over the counter.

Thank you
