Hello, I have my last milk tooth which is a molar. It is just a little loose and has been for a few months. However, I think food has found its way up into the little crack and is rotting by the root of my tooth. If I put my finger to try and loosen my tooth by the tiny exposed area, there is a very strong rotting odor. What do I do?? Thanks!

It's probably just due to bacteria getting in under that loose tooth and when you move it, you smell the odor. Very normal--just work on getting that tooth out!

Your tooth sounds like it is infected. The odor coming from the tooth is bacteria.

It is very possible food is trapped up there.

Do not let this infection get worse...it may cause you more problems. See a dentist and have it removed. From what you have described it sounds as though the tooth may not be salvageable.

I hate dentist. Haven't been one in over 30 years. Sounds barbaric put what I usually do is eat caramel candy. Eventually the caramel will stick to the tooth long enough to pull it out when its weak. If you have no fears of dentist go to one. This is just my method.
