It sounds like she may have been stung by a bee. Dogs usually have a pretty nice allergic reaction to bee stings. They swell up big time. The lips will get fat, the eyelids will swell till they are squinting, and the ears will feel thick too. In MOST cases, it can be easily treated with benadryl. (but don't treat at home, dosing is different in animals, and you don't know for certain thats what it is). In some cases though, they have severe reaction, where the throat swells and cuts off the windpipe...obviously, very bad. Your best bet is to make sure it is just a bee sting. Go to the emergency vet. If it is a typical bee sting reaction, they will take her right to the back, give her a shot under the skin of injectable benadryl, and have you wait for 30 minutes to an hour to make sure the swelling goes down. It happens a lot in pups since they just cant resist the little flying buzzing sounds, lol. And it sounds like a bee sting because of how quickly it came up. Infectious swelling of any sort is a slower, gradual swelling. Bee stings are quick. But because it is a pup, and the vet can only tell by looking at her...your best bet is to take her. You will most likely pay an emergency exam fee, and for a shot of diphenhydramine. It will be worth it, and you will be able to rest easy knowing she will be ok. Hope that's all it is, and hope she is ok. *and if it is a bee sting, you should take a picture, they have such funny little faces from bee stings, lol* *smile* -Special K

Rinse your mouth out with warm salty water, swoosh and gargle.. this will clean the area...if you dont have that you can gargle with peroxide!! u need a antibiotic, asap..to rid the infection...before the dentist can even work on your mouth(tooth)
Good Luck!!!
* Also, not taking care of you teeth, at home and seeing the dentist... can lead to heart problems, such as heart attacks!!!
** Using booze for a tooth ache, isnt a good thing...use a hot/warm, what ever you can handle..washclothe, on your face, at bed time or when your up...also the best medicine to take is Ibeprohine...which a dentist will prescribe to you in a 800 mg.pill

Put the ice in a bag and wrap the bag up in a towel. The towel should get colder gradually which is better than just sticking an ice pack directly on the skin.

If you face is swollen you have an abcess and you need to see a dentist. You also need to be on antibiotics to clear the infection up. Do not leave it as the teeth are directly linked to the heart via the blood stream.

cold makes swelling go down. heat doesn't. you should see a dr. asap before it becomes infected and causes more problems in the rest of your mouth.

If it already hasn't been suggested, swish some hot or very warm salt water around for a few minutes. wait a few minutes and do it again. also if you have any antibiotics, take them until you can get to the dentist. As last resort, Straight liquor, vodka or scotch, get stinking drunk.

If you have noticable decay, you may have an abscess tooth. It's not as scary as it sounds but it does usually require antibiotics. I'd talk to a dentist.
