I had a large white filling done 6 weeks ago to replace an old discoloured filling - purely aesthetic reasons, I had no problems with tooth. This morning the expensive white filling was removed as I have infection in the nerve/root canal, antibiotics prescribed & temporary filling done. Now deciding whether to remove tooth or proceed with root canal treatment. However, how did I get an infection so soon after treatment - did the dentist not 'clean' the cavity properlly before filling ?or can bacteria really enter the root canal via a new filling?

I have to get braces and was thinking about the lingual? Or maybe the ones with white brackets. Any comments. Could you tell me about them or your experience... anything?

I had braces put on about three years ago, and wore them for about 16 months. When they came off i had retainers, and wore them all the time, except when eating. Almost exactly a year after i went back to the orthadontist and he told me to start wearing them every other night until i no longer needed them, or to wait until i was ready, and took me off the list - my treatment was over. It didn't work right away so i carred on wearing them, and wore them for another seven months (but i was more free than before, to try and ween myself off of them) before i had to stop altogether. Now though it feels like my teeth are going back to how they were. I did everything i was supposed to. If they go back all the way it will be a complete waste of three years, but although there's obviously a slight difference, other people say i'm just paranoid. Is it likely they'll relapse completely?

the only reason i have not been to the dentist is because i don't want to appear like a hysterical mother and last time i called about a problem i was made to feel like this. i am hoping someone out there is a dentist, dental nurse or may have some sound advice please.

one of my daughters incisor teeth is coming out. the actual tooth is totally out of the gum but is hanging from some flesh and the root from the inside of the tooth. it looks as awful as it sounds and looks as though it is not going anywhere soon. there is no way i could pull it out because it is so attached. please help....

You think its ok to play touch football the day after you get your wisdom teeth out if you feel fine? Keep in mind I'm a guick healer and I'll be playing steady QB the whole time.

I don't have a major gap, just tiny spaces in between some of my front teeth. My teeth are straight already, my dentist said if I were to get braces, it would just be to get my spaces closed. I have a consultation this Thursday, and I want to know what to expect.

Day after I am having my first root canal surgery and I am really nervous!!! The pain as well as my phobia of visiting Dentist makes it so much worse. On my first visit to Dr he tested my tooth wit some sort of sensor and when he touched one particular point I jumped out of pain. I am just imaging how worse it is gonna be when I will be having the root canal. I have requested the Dr to give me 2 shots to keep it numb? I wanna know if the shots really help and are there any other good pain killers available which I can have before visiting the Dr?

It's been a week now, and the dry socket was starting to heal. My dentist told me that one of the symptoms of dry socket was that my throat would hurt. But after getting it packed, everything seems to be getting better. Not only is my throat more swollen but started to hurt like it did before.
