6 of my teeth are having black spots in the central part and a doctor advised to fill it after drilling these healthy teeth. Whether filling create any problem to the teeth?Or should I wait some more time since there are no complaints with these blackened teeth.
Anybody knows the answer?

I want to get dental implants, but I'm not sure how much it costs. To make it more complicated, I'm terrified of the dentist. I want to fill in the gaps, but just talking (typing?) about it makes me shake. Any advise?

I can see my wisdom tooth from the exposed hole. He pulled my tooth and before he pulled it, he said I had an infection. The pain is unbearable. Should I go back to the same dentist? Is this normal? It was tooth 31.

I have been having problems with my teeth for the last month or so. I just had 4 teeth removed because my former dentist didn't discover that I had gum disease. Now my top gums are starting to swell and the new dentist is saying that I need a deep cleaning asap. I'm already terrified of the dentist and now I have to go through this. Any one have suggestions on how I can calm down before going to have this done? Also the cost for this is 400 bucks, a 100 for each quad. Does this sound right to anyone?
Thanks!!

I made an appointment to have a dental screening (x-rays and a general evaluation) Thursday. It will be $94. I chose a university, because I believe those are cheaper than private practices. Is this cheap? It still sounds like a lot. Also, if I do in fact have cavities, I will have to get a second job and attend school...do you think I would be better off paying for dental insurance and then getting the dental work? I did a search on this forum and was shocked by the prices. I'm a college student, and I'm paying for this on my own...how long can I wait and still be okay (just so I can make a little more money)?

Also, I remember when I got braces as a young teenager, they weighed me. What is the point of being weighed? I don't really see a connection with my weight and dental health. Was that only relevant to my orthodontic work, or will it also be required for a regular screening? I'm hoping it won't be necessary.

Thanks in advance.

1. 8 mths ago part of my tooth fell out, I went to the dentist in 1 hour after, the dentist said no decay we will fill it with amalgam filling - no pain it was perfect
2. 2 mths ago (6 mths later) part of that filling came out, went back to the dentist 2 hours later and the dentist removed it and filled it with a resin
3. I couldn't put my teeth together as it would hurt but would stop when I let go, I went back the dentist grinded it down - I could put my teeth together and no pain at all
4. until I ate when there was food between the teeth when I bite down same thing pain with pressure but nothing when I let go
5. went back to the dentist on Friday and said only since day b4 i felt sensitivity to hot/cold. The dentist filled between that tooth and the next
6. 4 hours later still sensitive and hurt to bite down with food. went back to dentist and I have a crack in my tooth the dentist removed the filling and the cusp filled the crack and rebuilt the cusp

I have two gaps in my otherwise perfect teeth. I was looking to get some sort of cosmetic dentistry performed. I was looking at some sort of veneers to cover the bad spots. Is there any other one day procedures available? Where is the best place to look to find a qualified cosmetic dentist? Will they charge for a quotation?

I understand the veneer procedure, complications etc.

Thanks :)

Just for a bit of fun, what colour should I get my braces changed to next time? Anything but pink, white, blue or green. Oh, and no combinations of colours coz I usually just get the one colour.

To decide best answer, first one to guess what colour I have at the moment gets it.

I had a tooth that part of it cracked off, and he filled it in, well when he filled it in he didn't fill in the chipped part on the other side of the tooth. Well now the tooth is hurting and part of it above the filling on the side is black. What is it? Cavity, infection? Will it need pulled? Or filled back in?

I am in the planning stages of the dental implant process and I will need some grants or funding of some kind in order to complete the process. I have found a couple sources that I am applying to and feel that the more I have to apply to will increase my chances of getting chosen for the grants. I'm not looking for pro bono, nor do I want to go to a dental college because I live in rural Montana and traveling to a college would not work too well on my limited budget. I have found a implant specialist here in state who I'm working with to get the surgery planned. I'm hoping there are sources out there that I can apply to in order to get this done. This is not being done for cosmetic reasons but for health reasons. Thanks for any information you can share with me.

My dentist is on vacation until next week, which is when i leave for vacation...I don't know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem with a crown?

I was told by the oral surgen office that they would decifer who would pay for more coverage dental or medical insurance. Come to find out they went with my medical insurance. They told me that my balance was $410, and insurance would pay the rest. I paid that. Then I get a bill saying that the claim was denied due to not being refered by my primary care physcian, and I owe the remainder of the balance: $2400.00. What are my options. I was refered by my delta dental dentist, do I demand that they chase them down. I am not paying this. My teeth were not hurting, but though that it would be a good preventitive measure.
