Overtime I think your teeth will spread when not using the retainer. I wore braces and my teeth are doing the same thing. Maybe you could try wearing your retainer at night so your teeth won't hurt. I don't wear my retainer every day, but when I see little gaps between my teeth I put it on that night. When you're asleep it won't hurt as much. Warning: In the morning your teeth might hurt when you take them off.But even that is better than putting braces on again.
Good luck.

OMG! Its my story too. Bad news... go to the dentist right away, maybe its not too late. I had braces from 5-7th grade. I wore my retainer 24x7 every day and another six months every night. I then wore it occasionally. Then one day I put it in.. it doesnt go in. I dont think much of it. Then a couple months later I go to the dentist for my yearly check up and now I have to get braces again. My jr. and sr. year in high school... it totally stinks. He thinks it was because of my tongue. The tongue is one of the strongest muscles in our body, but mine was too strong. It was from years of thumb sucking. My tongue went forward when I swallowed and after 3 years of having my braces off it reshaped my mouth. I hope it works out for you.

call the orthadontist immediately and performance them take an impact for a clean retainer in the previous you're enamel are too distorted and next time positioned on your retainer 24/7 no matter if or not they say in straightforward words at evening! Do it more effective because it truly is so worth it later!

your teeth have already spread out (don't fit right?) Mine didn't go back really at all except my bottom 2 teeth in front. I had my retainer on them for 3 years and it was cemented on. the moved back w/in 3 weeks

So people's teeth will relapse, if you're concerned that that is happening schedule a consult with your othro. They may be able to make you a new retainer to help prevent shifting or correct minor shifts that have already occurred.

You may have to have braces again, However if they haven't moved too badly then you might be able to only have correction for a short time.

You are out of luck. You will have to go back to the orthodontist for evaluation.
