Anyone have lingual braces?... how about the white ones?

Question

I have to get braces and was thinking about the lingual? Or maybe the ones with white brackets. Any comments. Could you tell me about them or your experience... anything?

Ive never had lingual braces but i have had clear braces.I'm also the one that puts the braces on when you get them from the orthodontists office so i know a little about both.I guess you can say. I don't recommend the lingual braces its known to really cut up your mouth especially your tongue.The process takes a lot longer also.So plan on having braces for an extra year or so.Not worth it.

Clear braces r great the only downer is when you eat any red sauce meals, mustard,coffee,etc. Your elastics will change color. you can always change the donuts(that's what there called,because they look like a small donut) yourself if your orthodontist shows you how.Other than that and you've got to be careful not to eat hard candy and or taffy like foods . the clear braces are easily broken and need to be replaced so as long as your careful you have no worries. Have you looked into invisaligns retainers? There clear retainers that you cant see and they are also remove able your responsible for your progress's. If you ha vent checked them out you might want too.I think its just the thing your looking for!!!!!Good luck.

The first guy was correct. Lingual braces take much longer to achieve the same results. You would be better going with the "white" brackets and a gold coloured arch wire if possible as you see these even less than the silver coloured ones.

it doesnt really matter what brackets or style u get all depends on ur teeths condition but all in all they do the same thing trust me i have braces and my doctor said it doesnt matter what they look like as long as ur teeth are gettin fixed

lingulas are very unfortarble and will cut up your tongue. they also have longer treatment times. the white ones are bigger and still noticable.
