It's been a week now, and the dry socket was starting to heal. My dentist told me that one of the symptoms of dry socket was that my throat would hurt. But after getting it packed, everything seems to be getting better. Not only is my throat more swollen but started to hurt like it did before.

you could have a infection go back to the dentist they can give you some antibiotics

Oh dear! I had one of those a long time ago and they are very painful. I don't know the answer to this question, just wanted you to know that I really feel for you. To me, that pain was worse than what I went to the dentist for in the first place.

Inflammation is part of the body's defense system. Your body is trying to protect you and fight off an infection. If it is worsening though, you probably need antibiotics to help it along.
