Today, I still can't chew because of pain. Is this normal? 2 of the lower 3 teeth that were prepared had to have root canals before preparation for bridge. Will the pain I have now with the temp subside? I was on the chair for 3 hours yesterday. What an ordeal!

Before I get critisized, I don't know why I got my tongue pierced. I guess trying to be rebellious, who knows. No, it didn't hurt. Was it stupid? I don't regret it, maybe I'll feel different down the road, I'm not sure. We'll find out. :)

Now that I have that out of my system.. LOL

If anyone has past tongue piercing experience, I got my tongue pierced a week ago today. I see where the scar tissue is forming around it and my tongue is sort of white because I went a little crazy on the mouthwash (which I have cut down on considerably) but down the center of my tongue and ending at where the scar tissue is, there is a light red line. My tongue is no longer swollen and it doesn't hurt. I was just wondering if the red line is a sign of infection or just normal for a tongue piercing? Thanks in advance. :)

Now, I hate surgery, I hate the idea of it, and I hate watching it on tv even, and I certainly don't want it done to me, but apparently it has to be done...Now, some silly questions because I'm "worried" by it, or what have you.

Needles? Will I be awake during any of it to see what's going on? How bad will it hurt afterwards? (I'm pretty tolerant to pain, but certain things..just get me).

Now just one a lighter note, I was born with only two of these teeth, is that rare? I honestly never had bottom wisdom teeth...

I have had braces and had them taken off about two years ago. I still have two on my bottom teeth with a wire across the back. the doc said my bottoms were very delicate and he advised to keep it on for at least a year if not longer if no discomfort. it feels fine, but my mom says i need to take it off. Is there anything harmful if i would rather keep it on? Stainless steel, i think. I train in MMA and i feel it gives more support( dont want lose teeth )!

decay. Can someone please explain the differences between the two bacterias and how that works. I have a friend and we both use excellent hygiene, however he has decay and his gums are exquisite, even though he is elderly. I, on the other hand have very progressive gum disease and no decay. So, where do these different strains of bacteria come from? And how are they different?

i mean, the tooth is impacted, above bone, below sinus, but seriously 1200? he quoted me 650 to do the surgery on the tooth and another 550 for general anesthesia. this just doesn't make sense to me... is this for real?

I tried Rembrandt WhiteStrips ( 7 days). This is the first time I am using anything of this kind. I left the strip for an hour, and then I noticed that my teeth became brighter which is nice. But I also noticed a tiny stain that is bleach white on one of the teeth. It is so small, that you can barely see it. But if it was bigger, it would be really noticeable.
I did see this on some people's teeth.
Are stains like this one will become bigger? Is there any way to "smooth" the coloring? Did it happen to somebody? How did you fix it? Maybe it is better to just discontinue using it?
Thank you :) !

I currently experience some gum bleeding almost every time I brush. I normally brush twice a day, but I have increased the amount/duration of brushing in an effort to keep my mouth clean and kill the gingivitis. I usually use listerine immediately after brushing. I also have a bottle of Chlorhexidine (not sure of the spelling) which was prescribed to me about a year and a half ago when my wisdom teeth were breaking through. The expiration date has passed, so I am reluctant to use it. Is the expiration date on Chlorhexidine important? My bottle says to discard after 4/11/06, but I was hoping that it would last longer.

Other things to consider:
- I currently have no dental insurance, but I expect to be insured when I graduate law school in 5/07, so I'd like to avoid having to go for now
- I have ordered a Sonicare e9000 electric brush, hopefully this will help matters
- I read some favorable reviews of the Oral-B Hummingbird electric flosser. Is it any good?
