Still have tenderness at sit of said tooth and other complications now exist is this normal? and if not what can happen as far as having that bit still in body. can it result in infection etc.?

I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth, that I got right after my braces came off (in March, 2006) I looked in the mirror today and noticed one tooth is a bit crooked than before... I'm worried. Does this permanent retainer actually work? I'm paranoid about it now lol... I will call my orthodontist to get it checked out, but I just wanted to hear some opinions from any of you guys who may have experienced this.

Does anyone know of any place/organization/person/etc. that provides financial assistance for dental work? My daughter needs some dental work done and our insurance will not cover the costs for the procedures. She lacks the protective coating on her baby teeth the we have when we start getting our teeth. Therefore, her teeth are decaying rapidly. It is only her top teeth. So she needs all of them to be capped. To do this she will need to be put out - completely put under because she is only 6 years old... that is where the expense comes in. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Taking out a loan is out of the question due to bad credit.

The top tooth was impacted, and stopped hurting roughly three days after being pulled. The bottom tooth was slanted, and pulled out, and bothered me five days after the surgery. I started rinsing with salt water four days after surgery. Today I think I may have dislodged it, but can not see well enough back there to confirm, nor am I in an pain, or is there bleeding.

hi, i am 24 i went and had private orthodontic treatment a week ago. i hated the thought of braces in my mouth when it was suggested to me about 10 years ago, but decided to get it done. i got into the chair and began feeling nervous but managed to stay composed. i paid a deposit of 750 0f 3000 pounds, alot of money i know. meanwhile, at home my mouth felt very big as i only have a small mouth and small teeth and dont have a full set either. ie couple of adults did not come through. my problem is complex as my incisor grew out the roof of my mouth instead of its correct position. anyway the past week has been pure hell, all i could think of was having them out they were so uncomfortable, i had low self esteem, could not do anything, work, sleep, eat, talk, everything i had took for granted was taken anyway.i got very depressed and very weak, cried alot, i lost weight, i went everyday to see the ortho. everybody at the orthos told me it would get better and to persevere but it didnt.
