I have very deep grooves in my teeth

Can you differentiate between pain and senstivity? Is it sensitive only to cold or hot as well?
If it is sensitive to both cold and hot, then you need to use a desensitysing tooth paste like Sensodyne...
It might be a deep cavity as well which exposed your dentin...after the topmost layer of enamel wears off....Dentin is sensitive ...

It wouldn't hurt to get them checked out. However, I'm betting you just have some sensitive teeth. Go and get some toothpaste for sensitive teeth. I use Crest Sensitive and it works pretty well. It might take a week or two for the medicine in it to do the trick, but I think you'll notice the difference.

It can be cavity but I think your teeth may be sensitive to such things as cold. My teeth used to hurt when I ate something cold and any kind of sweets but I didn't have a cavity. I recommend using a toothpaste called sensodyne which my dentist recommended. I used it for while and it I it helped. It's for sensitive teeth. I hope this helps!

Could be a cavity. Or, it could be root exposure. You can get that either from not brushing the gums good enough, so they recede and expose the root which is not covered with enamel. Or, you can get it from brushing too aggressively, especially back and forth, along the gumline, wearing away the gum. You could try Sensitive Formula toothpaste, or go see a dentist.

Could be many things.
For example, do you grit your teeth while you sleep? This could cause your teeth to be sensitive.

my lower teeth are sensitive to cold. you are supposed to get some special toothpaste. But I never have.

Go to a dentist nobody can really tell without looking at it..But sympotoms says "YES"
