my children are 8,7, and 6... when is a good time to start taking them to dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child is to be seen within 6 months of their first tooth erupting or by 1 year old. This is a fantastic time because we can teach nutrition and it's effects to the dentition, home care and what to expect. Take them now!

Yep, I agree with the others, you should have started taking them a few years ago, they recommend that you start taking them as soon as they have their first tooth, so that they get used to the dentist and aren't scared. Because the problem is, if you leave it until later, they're more likely to need fillings etc, and if that's done on their first visit, it will make them scared of the dentist forever. So I'd recommend that you register them all with a dentist as soon as you can. Good luck!

You should have started taking them already. I started taking mine when they were about 4 yrs. old, although I now read and hear that you are supposed to take them as young as one year which I think is dumb unless you have a real concern about their teeth. Make sure to find a dentist who is good with children...there a lot of Pediatric Dentists out there now that make it "fun" to visit the dentist. Wish they'd make it fun for me to visit the dentist....=)

You shoulda taken them a long time ago, as soon as they get teeth you should have taken them to the dentist!!!! About age 2-4!!!

As soon as their teeth started to come through, just so they get used to going. I would get the registered now if you can.
