I had all 4 of mine took out all at one time. I was given a local, because I was pregnant (age 18). It was like loosing a tooth. I had tylenol for pain, and it didn't bother me.
I did have an infection which I had to get rid of before hand, but it wasn't that bad.

I was 21 when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. First thing, they put you out so you don't feel a thing. When you wake up your feel sleepy and your mouth is numb. You should get some pain killers from the dentist and they will tell you to drink liquids and to make sure that you keep your mouth really clean by rinsing it out. Maybe take two days off after the surgery. I had both my bottom ones pulled. I slept pretty much the day it was done and eat/drank smoothees, ice cream, and yogurt. Applesauce is good too. Hopefully you are not a smoker, cause you take the chance of getting bacteria in the cuts. It happened to my friend in Cali. and he had this fungus growing in his mouth. It wasn't pretty. Just keep your mouth clean and expect a little soarness. You won't be able to open your mouth too wide for about a week. You'll be fine. You can tough it out. Good Luck

I had my Wisdom Teeth out yesterday. I was put asleep and didn't feel anything. When I woke up I was in no pain for about 2 hours, until the anesthesia wore off. After I couldn't stand the pain any longer, I took some Vicodin that my Oral surgeon perscribed. Also, use Ice packs especially if there taking out your bottom teeth. your first night may be painful, I woke up at 2:30 and had to take another vicodin. This morning I woke up and my face looked like a pumpkin. Your surgeon may perscribe antibiotics to keep out infections. Definately eat somt foods like pasta, jello, yogurt, and for a breakfast you may want to try rice crispies. Finally, Its good your getting them out at the age you are. I am also 16, and I am happy their out so I don't have future problems.

I had four of them removed....top and bottom. There was nothing too it. I did go to the hospital for this, but it can be done in office now a days. My wisdom teeth were not exposed so there was some surgery involved. I did not even need the pain pills.

They will first give you shots to numb your mouth. getting them pulled is not bad, you will not feel anything expept a pressure as they are working in your mouth. afterwords, you will have pain. get some vicidon.
expect to take a day or two to recover, and eat soft foods for a couple days or week deepending on which side of the mouth you got the teeth pulled. if it is the same side, you can use the other side for eating.

I got 3 of mine done at the same time and I couldn't eat normaly for 2 weeks!

they cut off bone too, and cut into some muscle, so mine may have hurt worse then yours will.

If you are just getting them pulled it wont be that bad. Maybe one or two days at home and then be careful about eating sharp things like chips for a while. If you have to get them cut out it will be a little worse but not too bad. You'll have to be carefull about your food for a little longer and make sure that no food stays in the surgery sites after you eat. Maybe 2 or 3 days home on that one.

It's really not that bad. I had two of them removed when I was 18. Ask them to put you to sleep. You will need about 3 days to recover.

You dont really need a rest unless its done under General Anesthesia...Its painless..becoz u r on Local anesthesia when removed and pain killers are prescribed for removal....

Might have to stay on liquid or soft diet for a day or two....Don't forget to have icecream on the first day n later start warm saline gargles which wud improve ur mouth opening slowly following extractions....

I was at work the night after having mine removed. It's not especially painful, just uncomfortable. But, ask you dentist about developing "pockets" afterwords. Apparently this is a fairly common problem, and if I would have known about it I would have opted not to have my teeth removed. I have developed such a problem, and it will cost me about about 1200 dollars to correct. Not good.

I've had all 4 of mine removed. It is a little bit nerve wrecking, but otherwise it's not bad. if you get your pain killers prescription, you might hurt for a little bit, but other than that, you should be fine.
