Take an antibiotic if you have some a.s.a.p. Somebody already mentioned antibiotics I think. If you're in so much pain that nothing's working, you can't get any sleep and you don't have any antibiotics, don't be embarrassed to call family or friends for help.
I've been where you're at and the only thing that got rid of the pain was an antibiotic. Another thing that works temporarily is alcohol - try drinking a wine cooler or something that won't get you drunk so you can still see a dentist first thing in the morning. Don't be fooled if the pain went away for awhile. The pain will keep creeping up until a dentist does something about that tooth. Good luck.

HI,, i hate to tell you this,,, your in trouble.. regular tylenol and that stuff does not work on tooth aches and that ambisol ,,, forget it...
What is happening is you have a dying nerve in a tooth.. from decay.. it has formed a puss pocket around the nerve and that is why it hurts ,, plus the throbbing is the nerve dying....
You need antibiotics to cure the abscess..and something for pain.. You are going to have to suck it up and go to the dentist...sorry....
I been there and I know thru asking questions to my dentist...
No kidding..... go get it fixed ,,, or a root canal done and crown it...
good luck

Take some Nurofen Plus, which should be more effective.
Another thing to consider is a heart attack, which sometimes manifests as excruciating dental pain.

Go to 711 and buy some I.B.Profern and take it with some water. Then call a dentist in the morning. Unless you know of one who takes emergency dental calls.

If you still can't sleep, try using an extra pillow to elevate your head. If that doesn't work, go sleep in a recliner or propped up on the arm of the sofa.

Usually pain is caused by infection. For tonight, advil or Ibuprofin, tomorrow start antibiotics if you have some, if not you need to get some and that will help til you can get it fixed.

clove oil will stop it on contact.. but if you do not have any how about orajel? I used to put some orajel and toothpaste on my brush and brush it .. the toothpaste helps clean it out and the orajel numbs it... dont take any more pain pills youve had enough...try a hot warm moist towel on your mouth... bear in mind once it starts to cool off the pain will start to return.

Try Clove Mint Oil. It numbs the pain better than the OTC medicines and is available in the food flavoring aisle or most drug stores and Wal-Marts.
