Ok so today I got a phone call from the nurse at the doctors office telling me that I failed my 3 hour test.. She said that 3 of the 4 came back elevated, and that the worse out of all was the one that was up to 244 "my sugar level" I did everything I was suppose to and still I failed. I am really nervous about the health of our baby now.. I have read and heard from many people that this pregnancy related complication can cause you to have an extremely large baby.. And that it can cause other health issue if it isnt well watched for the remainder of the pregnancy.. I have a home health nurse coming out to get me all set up with my equipment to start testing my self.. I have to test 4 times a day atleast, and watch what I eat.. Does anyone know what I can eat if anything. I was to no high carbs and no sugar, but what else do I need to watch out for? Please anyone that has had this tell me what you did.. I want to get a start on things now before the nurse shows up...

I've had persistent acne for 4 years now, since 11. I'm 15 and thinking of asking my doctor to prescribe me Accutane. Minocycline4 and Proactiv was waste of money.

Well May 15th was the last time I had my period so July 16th I went to the doctor to get a blood test and see if I was pregnant (it was a no :) ) I also got birth control that day as well (Yasmin) It's been three weeks and three days since I've been taking them (same time everyday) and this week I'm supposed to get my period but it still hasn't come. I haven't seen ANY kind of blood since MAY! No spotting or anything! Is this normal? (By the way I'm 19 and have never had intercourse).

I have had this lump for about 4 months now, it is on the left side of my back, between my lower rib and closer to my front side rather than the spine. No pain, is hard and fixed, went to my dr yesterday who said it is not a lipoma and is deeply embedded. Going to see a surgeon on the 21st of this month....what could be the cause??? My dr really could not tell me much of anything. Scared it is cancerous but cannot find on search engines for a mass like this. Anyone with medical knowledge or personal experience with something like this would be most appreciated.

Then why do they prescribe it at chemotherapy and for cancer patients? This doesnt make sense to me. People are always trying to say bad things about it, but there is no proof that it even causes cancer. Any facts?

OK, I weigh 235 ponds at the current moment. I have been cutting back on my food and eating less junk food. I still eat 3 meals, I am not starving myself or anything. I have lost a pound or more the last 3 days. Is this bad?

I dont know if you have ever seen that show the Biggest Loser...how do they do that healthy. They are really overweight and they lose like 10 pounds a week.

Is it ok for really over weight people to drop weight faster? i dont understand. I dont want to be unhealthy.

Thanks!

My bf is 14 and diabetic, he's been diagnosed since may this year. i wasn't with him until begging of July, so I don't know how he controlled it then, but recently he's had blood sugars from one extreme to the other, today it was 2.5!!! and it should be about 10, last week he had a level of 17 and then 21. is there something he's not doing right, not having the right amount of insulin or anything else, because if he keeps going like this he's going to put himself in hospital!

I'm 13...I have tried contact lenses, but have had to stop because in the middle of the day they get blurry and I can't see through them at all. If I move them around back where they're supposed to be then I can see again. I have heard that there's a special lens made for astigmatism. (I have astigmatism.) Has anybody tried these and do they work?

My boy has asthma, his lung capacity is 26 % and his meds were recently uped due to them being so poor. ( he was at 34 %)
It is 94 here and feels like 105. His friend just called and again like 2 days ago, asked if he could go outside to play.
I was told to NOT have him out on days like today because it could cause him trouble breathing.
The NEWS even says, "Any persons with heart, breathing problems, the old & the young, those who are pregnant...should stay inside out of the heat."
Doesn't his parents watch the news? I have told these people before that my boy has severe asthma!
It is only common sense ...right?
So, what is your take on allowing an asthmatic 9 yr old out to play in the heat?

Yes, or HECK NO!

BTW- for the rest of the week they are calling for it to be between 94 and 100 and it will feel like 105- 115.

Thanks in advance!

If someone is told they have signs of psychosis, a mood effective disorder and obsessive compulsions then gets placed on antipsychotics, the person still goes out and drinks on a night out whilst on the drug, the person, (bearing in mind had read that it is a bad idea to stop taking medication) one day stops taking the antipsychotic and becomes quickly manic again and feels better for doing things like taking a lot of caffeine pills to get a buzz for example and just feels happier, then almost 'comes round to their senses' because notices severe mood changes again and decides to take the antipsychotics after all, the person doesnt feel very stable and wants to 'change' things a lot so does things like stops medication to change themselves etc. Is this the sort of time a Psychiatrist would think about sending the patient to a hospital for care or does that not happen anymore, if the person feels they need more support.Any info wud b helful...also do you HAVE to go to a hospital if told?
