it's very normal to lose ound a day. in fact the heavier you are the more fat you'll drop in the beginning of your excercise routine. i wouldnt be surprise if you lost more then 7 pound's in the first few week's.
the closer you get to your idle weight the harder it is to shed the last few pound's.
so you should get alot of incentive in the first few week's seeing how your losing so much weight.
good luck

A HEALTHY weight loss is 2 to 3 lbs a WEEK. You can accelerate this by fasting for one day or two days a week and expect to lose another 2 or 3 lbs. for each day you fast, BUT it should only be done if you can handle it and if you dont get hungry while trying it. If you do get hungry, then you need to eat.
Also, you cannot go below a magic number of calories, otherwise you body kicks into starvation mode, and instead of losing fat, you lose water and fat stays on your body instead. Go here to the Beach Body website and sign up on the forums - chat with people there - the Beach Body exercise kit comes with the weight versus minimum calories chart you need to follow, and someone there should be able to fill you in on what values work for you (claim you lost that one flyer or something).
The people on The Biggest Loser are receiving customized coaching and dietary support from specialists doctors and exercise trainers, which is why they can safely lose the weight as fast as they do. If you attempted to do this without medical support, they could end up doing permanent damage to themselves.

Yes. The best range to lose weight in is 1 to 2.5 lbs a week. This will allow your body to accustom itself to the loss and the skin to regain its prestretched stage. Losing weight too quickly will cause the skin of abdomen, chest and inner thighs to sag, possibly dramatically. I don’t personally believe in any of the fad diets that keep showing up. I think that they put your body into an unhealthy famine mode which will cause you to gain the fat right back if you start to eat normally again. The best idea is to eliminate all junk food. You can do a cheat day if you need to but don’t go overboard. Eat balanced meals of reasonable size. Overeating will cause your stomach to be too large and you will still feel hungry when you’re not. Also have lots of healthy snacks during the day. Ideally you’ll want to eat 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day. Carry food with you so you aren’t tempted to eat unhealthily when you’re out of the house. And don’t buy unhealthy foods. Get foods that are low in bad fats—we do need fat to survive but not saturated fat. Minimize the processed flours and sugars, no white bread, no sugar. Choose leaner meats and protein sources. Don’t expect to eat pizza and burritos all the time and lose weight. And eat tons of vegetables. Eat salads, steamed vegetables and raw vegetables too. You can’t eat so much celery that you’ll get fat. Don’t eat too much fruit or things containing high fructose corn syrup. The reason is that fructose is hard on the liver because it can only be metabolized there. You can eat fruit during or after a workout. Don’t eat late at night because your body will turn it into fat. Eat a smaller amount of calories than needed to maintain your weight. You have burn more than you intake. Always exercise. Cardio especially, but weights are good too. Don’t give up. You’ll be glad you chose to lose the weight.

When I first went back to the gym after my having my baby, I lost 14 lbs in a week. That was consuming 1700 C a day and working out on cardio 30 min/ day 5 times a week. I talked to my personal trainer and he said that usually, water weight can be up to 17% of your body weight and it goes first, after two weeks, you should slow down to about 3 lbs per week unless you are on a power diet like South Beach (which really works). If you arent missing meals or feeling shaky or weak, you should be A-OKAY!! Good luck with your diet!

usually when a person first starts on a diet, they lose a lot more weight in a shorter period of time. also, those that have more to lose, do so faster at first. as long as you eat healthy and get exercise, don't worry about it. just realize that it won't always be that easy. there may be periods of time when you don't lose any at all. on the Biggest Loser, they have doctors and dieticians helping them lose the weight. they're not doing it on their own.

It isnt unhealthy unless you are doing way too much excercise at once or if you are starving yourself..
which you said you arent.
So try staying on a healthy diet but not go crazy and try too lose all the weight really fast.
Because if you want to stay healthy it will take time..

at your weight, you will generally lose weight pretty quick at first. your diet is important. it sounds like you have it figured out, just make sure you are getting all the nutrients that your body needs.
you will find that you will be able to loose a few pounds right away just by changing your eating habits, but the weight loss wont continue if you are not doing regular exercise. you need to keep active to burn the calories that you are taking in and to burn fat.
you can remedy this by regular aerobic exercise and straight training.
good luck to you...

When you are really overweight, you tend to lose weight a lot faster than those people who may only have a few pounds to lose.

The heavier you are, the faster you will lose the weight initially. Eventually it will taper off and you will lose at a more normal rate.
