During lifeguard school today I had to lift a 20lb weight fromt the bottom of the pool. On the way up my right leg suddenly exploded with pain, like my femur was being twisted. I don't think it was a normal leg cramp, because as soon as I even wiggled my leg I was wracked with pain again, and it wouldn't go away for a long while. So I was left looking like an idiot on deck wincing with pain.

This happens every time I attempt the weight challenge, and I need a remedy. Because if I can't bring the weight to the top, then I fail the course and can't be a lifeguard.

I recently went for a scan due to my TSH levels being off the charts...and my doctor found that my thyroid (the left lobe) was actually growing back. It was totally removed in 2004 (was 4x the normal size as well as hypothyroidism) and in doing the biopsy afterwards, they found a small pre-cancerous cell.

Question is, has anyone been through that before and what was your outcome? The doctor wants to monitor the regrowth and I'm going back in October, but I can't help thinking what the heck is going on??

I'm a pretty short girl (4'11). I exercise pretty regulary. I play tennis everyday for three hours with my coach and I eat pretty well. I've lost weight everywhere exept my big thighs! I hate them. I really want them to shrink but I don't know what to do.

Any suggestions, tips, ideas?

when people say your left arm, shoulder, neck and face goes numb when u get a heart attack..

what do people specifically mean by it? the word 'numb' that is?

which of these below sounds more like a heart attack?

1) there is no feeling in the places, like u cant feel things with that specific arm or move it etc (sorta like a turned off arm).
if someone pinched u wouldnt feel it.

2) it is tingly mild feeling inside and a kind of weakness? pins n needles.. and jaw is hard to move, tooth pain?

3) or is it pain that you feel in all these areas that occurs all at once and shoots up and down that area?

depressing subject i know but just wondering.

Sounds odd, doesn't it?

Basically, I'm currently trying to lose weight (have been on-and-off all my life). This time, I'm starting to get somewhere, however, my situation is this:

I am a college student who, as much as I'd love to, can't go for a 45 minute brisk walk everyday, because of work and classes.
I don't live anywhere near a gym (we have a weights room and gymnastics centre here, but its not a gym-gym, and I'm still a bit uncomfortable about exercising around others).

Can anyone suggest really intensive, yet quiet (as I'm in a dorm) exercises, for weight-loss. I'm currently 108 kg (I can't convert that into pounds, but its a heck of a lot). So crunches and push-ups are a bit difficult as of yet :p

Please! My lifelong bad habits will catch up to me in my 30s! I wanna be healthy!

I am 31 years old, 5'11, and I weigh 205 pounds. Also, I exercise not like a nut but regularly. I can do 30 minutes on the treadmill and exercise bike keeping my heart rate at 150 with no problem. I don't eat much red meat or a lot of carbs. I actually like salad and generally don't eat all kinds of junk food. With everything out there I can't tell how normal I am with regards to health and weight.
