Although I dont think you are fat because I am almost 14 and 5'4" and 122 lbs and am in pretty good shape due to cardiovascular and karate activity daily but since it does matter on specifics, I can understand why you want to tone up. Well, its har din the beginning, I would know becaus eI used to be bigger, but once you eliminate most junk food, you no longer desire it or you feel guilty after eating it. You need moderate activity throughout the day and consume less calories than you burn. As for excercise, about an hour of moderate to heavy activity is a goos start for weight loss but you do need to find somehting that you enjoy. For example, play sports, run, dance, etc--anything that gets you moving. Also, having a friend buddy up with you is great motivation since humans are naturally competetive anyhow. As for food, you still have to make sure you are eating enough so your body doesnt go into starvation mood and the reverse effect takes place. Eat lean protein such as grilled chicken and fish and eat tons of fruits and veggies throughout the day. Also, remember to drink plenty of water. If you are asking the specifics, well I can give you the plan I use. Every morning I go out for a 2 mile run/jog/walk (intervals). And I use the staristepper for about 20 minutes and then its off to weights for target areas and then ab excercises. My diet is made up of health food brands such as Kashi and any organics. I also keep my fridge filled with veggies and fruits I snack on throughout the day. I also eat lean cuisines if im in a pinch for time, although they are quite high in sodium. Just start off slowly when you try to eliminate junk food, you still need to eat it sometimes so you can keep yourself happy, about once a week, such as friday nights with your guy or friends =) good luck, and if yo uneed any advice/eating plans/excercises, just contact me as I have taken courses for physical fitness and nutrition.

Losing about 10lbs would probably be the best. If you lost any more than that you would probably be too skinny. The best way too lose weight would probably be to just exercise more often and eat healthier. Doing crunches or situps would probably be the best for burning fat. There also fat burning pills such as Stacker 2 which may help, although I don't know if they work. I know junk food tastes good but instead of eating a lot of it you should eat more vegetables. Although having a little junk food every now and then is alright. If you can't stay away from the junk food then just throw it away. Getting your family and friends to support you and give you encouragement is also very helpful.

you don't need to lose weight i'm 5'4 and i weigh 120 lbs. if you lose weight u look like a freakin anorexic, bein anorexic is not fun trust me. As for the junk food everytime u get a craving eat a banana or some kind of fruit, that will cure your craving, or call someone on the phone, do your nails, anything that will distract you from eating. Eat some veggies every now and then. And you can tone up by jogging every morning. i do that and after i'm done running i feel so good and i don't feel like eating junk food anymore, and i have a really nice rear cuz of running also.

118 pounds is actually underweight for a girl your height, so I'm sorry but I have to say it- you're not fat!!!!!
However, you could still appear chubby or flabby if your muscles aren't toned. Try a Pilates workout (you can either sign up for a class or get a Pilates workout DVD.) Pilates is great because it strengthenes, tones, and elongates your muscles to give you a slim, dancer-like appearance without actually causing any significant weight loss. Other ideas: Sign up for a dance class with a friend, go jogging three times a week to build muscle in your legs, do approximately 3 sets of 10 crunches every morning when you wake up. These things have all helped me to tone up and look very trim, even though I'm 2 inches shorter and 10 lbs. heavier than you. Try it before you do any diets, PLEASE!!!!

Your BMI is 19.6 - healthy weight
Your BMI is below the healthy range. You should not try to lose any weight, and putting on a few pounds may benefit your health.
Your weight is within the healthy range. Making sure you have a balanced diet and taking regular exercise will help you to stay fit and healthy. If you feel that you want to lose weight in order to feel more comfortable with your body shape, try making small, healthy changes to your eating habits and taking more exercise. You should not aim to weigh less than a BMI of 20.
and for junkfood, stop.

There is no WAY you can even look fat at 5'5 and 118 pounds. To the contrary, that is pretty skinny. Just tone up a bit by running and doing push-ups.

Stop. You are already at the LOWEST weight you should be for your height.
Instead of DIETING (why does everyone think they need to give up food?) how about EXERCISING???
You don't need to lose weight, you need to tone your body.
