If you went off it because of that, check with your doctor. He/she can put you in touch with drug companies patient assistance program. I was on that and got mine for free because I didn't have insurance and made under a certain amount of money.

As for alternative remedies, St. John's Wort has helped me, but you have to be careful if you're on any other kind of medication, as it can really screw it up.

I take it you live in the US. No insurence. There is a herbal remedy called St Johns Wort that has been proved to be effective. My advice: take lots of exercise, eat varied fruit and veg and talk to close friends.

Please be informed that Zoloft now comes in a much less expensive generic Sertaline (if I recall correctly). Go to the Drug store and ask for the generic.

Another alternative

My Dr., when I was in need of medication, would supply me with samples of medication to get me through.
