I am overwieght. I ahve gained about 20 lbs in the last year. I get out of breath way too easy. Usually when I use my upper body. When I do I have discomfort in my neck and feel nauseated. My heart races. I am taking Lopressor for my blood pressure and I am trying to diet for my high cholesterol.
I have had a heart score and I have to blockages and I have had an upper G I which turned up no problems. I am scared.

My knee was killing me, so I went to the doctor and he injected it with about 4cc of cortisone after he examined it.
My knee feels so much better. Do you know anything about cortisone injections and how long the pain free result will last and what should be the outcome?

Hi, Ive been having this problem from the past few months. I have noticed that there are tiny white particles when i pass urine and this happens a 3-4 times a week. I dont have any pain when i pass urine. Should i be worried ? Is there something that i can do to get rid of this uneasiness? Appreciate your answers!

Hi all,

My six year old son was playing outside today, and he got a thick sliver under his nail. It looks like it went into his nail at the side, and unfortunately there is no 'end' sticking out. I tried my best to get at it with tweezers, and clipped the nail as much as I could to get at it, but no luck. Is it a possibility that it will come out naturally, or will it get infected? I am not sure if I should take him to the doctors, as they will probably have to cut a chunk of his nail away. I tried taking a picture, but it won't focus enough on the nail. Any thoughts?

I spoke with my GP who wasnt very helpful, said he didnt know much about it and would refer me to plastic surgeon but I've been back twice now and still he has'nt refered me? what can I do?

I have a fourteen yr old daughter who had what I thought was a virus two weeks ago.Glands up all over the place and general malaise. It didn't improve and she developed severe sore throat and a mouth full of ulcers. GP diagnosed tonsilitis but said it could well be glandular fever as it had been a long time and so many glands were still affected. She has been taking penicillin for 4 days now but has not really improved. I have heard that g.f. can sometimes be related to, or wrongly diagnosed as M.E. We are not a wimpy family. I don't go rushing to the doctor for the slightest little thing, so I am reluctant to suggest this rather controversial 'condition' to my GP. This was the first time we had consulted her since we registered two years ago. Anyone have any ideas or experiences?

I woke up with a hard lump about the size ofa quater on the inside of my skin between my leg and groin. It is a little sore only when i push on it otherwise you cant see or feel it, I am wondering what it may be and if i can get rid of it without going to the doctor. I've had my period since I was about 12 (i'm 17 now) and it has never been regular at all. I mentioned to my mom out of frustration that I've started my period, had it for about a day, and then had it stop about 3 or 4 times in the past 2 weeks. So, now she wants to take my to the gyno to get checked out.

I would really like to be on birth control for regularity and such, but I just had sex for the first time Saturday.

If my mom found out she would murder me. Is anything I tell the gyno confidential or can she tell my mom that?

Bit like the ear lobe thing this..... if/when I want to chill out completely I like to peel the dead skin off the soles of my feet.
I know this is YUCK but it sends me into a nice relaxed trance!

I recognise this is quite disgusting and I wash my hands thoroughly afterwards...

is it okay to pop a boil or should i wait til it drains on its own? its very small, a little smaller than a dime. i heard that if it drains on its own it could spread to other parts of your skin the pus touches. so could i squeeze it now to drain it to avoid it popping and spreading?

I'm off to Vegas in 3 days. I didn't have time to lay in a tanning bed and I hate those spray tans. I haven't tried them, but my sister in law had a bad experience. Is there anything you've tried that you found gave you a great base tan in 3 days? I have fair skin but tan quickly and beautifully. Thanks for your responses! ;-)
