I am overwieght. I ahve gained about 20 lbs in the last year. I get out of breath way too easy. Usually when I use my upper body. When I do I have discomfort in my neck and feel nauseated. My heart races. I am taking Lopressor for my blood pressure and I am trying to diet for my high cholesterol.
I have had a heart score and I have to blockages and I have had an upper G I which turned up no problems. I am scared.

You need to talk to your heart specialist about this, he has literature about dieting, exercise, cholesterol and above all how the blockages are affecting you.
Did you say TRYING to diet, you should not kid yourself you have a problem, if you do not address this in a sensible manner there is only alternative and we both know what that is.
You really need to take care of your health, I know I am suffering form congestive heart failure myself.

1. You need to diet off the excess weight.
You are deconditioned and this is what is making your heart race and causing you to have high blood pressure and heart blockages along with a high fat diet.
Get out and walk and exersize and work that body! Its the only hope for you. Go on weight watchers and join a fitness center and walk on a treadmill every single day for at least 30 minutes or just walk around in your house for 30 minutes.

I would imagine your problem stems from your overweight situation and your blood pressure and blood pressure medication.

I would recommend:
a) talking to a doctor
b) EAT NATURALLY. That means, few if any processed foods. Fruits, Veggies, etc. Diet does NOT mean reduce your caloric intake. It's the typical lazy approach. REAL Diet is figuring out what foods are natural and work with your body.
c) DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Everyday when you get up have 16 oz of water. Then drink throughout the rest of the day.
d) stay AWAY from sugars; they only add to your problem
e) stay AWAY from DIET products - they are poison.
f) walk for 15 minutes every day.
g) make sure you are getting enough sleep

You have to do things to actively get your body to a more natural state. If you don't care, it will continue to feed upon itself. Sure you might suppress it with medications, but the body wants to be natural.

If you really want to live, research a little about HOW the body works and the nutrition you can use to allow it to heal itself.

My wife is going through the same thing only her tests showed no blockages. The Dr put her on a diet and a treadmill.

Nope. Your doctor should be diagnosing you. Hope that you feel better. It could be weight related. Slowly get into a walking / running routine. I think that you'd feel much better after 6 weeks.

You have what is commonly called: a problem. I suggest you talk with your doctor. If he's a loser call an acupuncturist, one that has sloping eyes and a last name like, Yang, Tang, Wang!
